A Little Love…

Greetings! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate! I do, and I have had a wonderfully busy, sweet and fun time with all of the family. Right after Christmas I celebrated my anniversary so I am just now getting back into my card room. I was able to put in almost a full day of creating today! So fun!

I came across this fun sketch from My Favorite Things and decided that since Valentine’s Day is the next big holiday on the calendar, I would make a Valentine-y sort of card. Well, I still have plenty of time to bring out the hearts and the red; today, I wanted to be a bit more subtle with it:

What do you think?!?

Since I based my card on the sketch, I arranged and adhered my two pattern paper layers together and then die cut an oval into them with my Oval Stitched Mats by Lil’ Inker. Don’t you LOVE those stitched lines? I then arranged a complimentary pattern paper to cover the opening. I chose a subtle pattern so I could stamp on it.

Next came the banner layer, and I just repeated patterns already on the card. The rust/orange/Cajun Craze layer is the same as the back layer, just peeking out. I stamped a sentiment from the My Favorite Things stamp set Simply Fabulous Sayings. I followed up with one of the larger sentiments in the same set and then added one more of the stamps, just changing the ink color up.

This is a really fun stamp set with lots of options to mix and match the sentiments. Isn’t this paper darling? I love that the colors are non-traditional Valentine colors but the paper still has subtle hearts running through it, setting the tone of the card.

I’m a bit low on a variety of hearts, but I managed to find this heart die in the Stampin’ Up! Thinlits – Circle Card dies. I thought I just needed one, but in the end I think two are perfect, overlapping and in boy/girl colors.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Did you know I sell my cards? Please pop on over to my card shoppe and take a peek! I will be adding to the store on the 1st of each month so make sure to come back!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

What a fun card you’ve created with this week’s colors! I know they’re flowers but they reminded me of all the fireworks I heard going off to all hours last night. 🙂
