You’ve Got This – Sunday Stamps 119

Hello there! Today is Sunday and that means another challenge from the Sunday Stamps bi-weekly challenge! This week we have a color combination for you:

You've Got This - Sunday Stamps 119

My first impression of the inspiration photo was Christmas and I thought to myself “That’s got to be a mistake!” I was so caught up with the items in the photo that it took me a few moments to actually see the color banners! My interpretation of the colors was Cherry Cobbler, Early Expresso, Crumb Cake and Basic Gray. I pored through my stamp collection and found just the right thing!

I was thrilled to ink up this never-been-used-before stamp set called You’ve Got This by Stampin’ Up! I’m quite pleased with this color combination though it’s a bit outside of my box. This color combination can be used for both men and women and with the sentiment, I think it covers many occasions.

I went to grab Crumb Cake card stock and I always check my scrap bag first and found an already die-cut piece ready to go! Cool!

Details:

  • I stamped off once before stamping the background texture stamp in Crumb Cake ink. The flower is stamped in Early Expresso and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.
  • I looked through my wash tape collection and found this cute red polka dot wash tape – perfect!
  • A simple hand trimmed banner fulfills the grey aspect of the challenge 🙂
  • One button topped off with a twine bow adds to the rustic feel of the color combination and adds a bit of pizzazz to the design
  • Two Cherry Cobbler candy dots are the perfect accent to balance the layout.
  • Adding to the inside and lining your envelopes is a simple way to add extra love to the project!

I’m on a mission to use every stamp in my stash as well as use some of that bling I love to buy but struggle to use! So be prepared to see more ‘stuff’ on my cards! Which do you prefer: clean and simple; a bit of bling; or do you like to add LOTS of bling? I would love to hear from you!

I hope that my project has inspired you to join us in this challenge, for more inspiration please visit these lovely ladies:

Wild About Flowers Sweet Sunday Sketch 283

Hello Friends! I’m popping in today to share an adorable sketch challenge I found this Sunday…

SSSC283Isn’t it fabulous?? I knew right away which stamp set I wanted to use…Wild About Flowers by Stampin’ Up! And here it my card:)

I just recently caved and purchased this Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!. I have been on a self imposed moratorium on purchasing 12 x 12 paper because I feel that most of the designs are too large  for a card. But I saw so many samples with this lovely paper that I finally ordered it…I know, I’m easily enabled!

But isn’t it ca-yoot?? The colors in this paper are supposed to be Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. Sometimes though, Stampin’ Up! does shades of a color rather than use it at 100%. I didn’t think it looked like Melon Mambo so I pulled out the retired color Primrose Petals and was happy as can be with that match.

Wild About Flowers Sweet Sunday Sketch 283I adore how the font on the sentiment really pairs well with the flower images, and sentiments such as this one are hard to come by so I will keep this set indefinitely!! Can you just barely see the shimmer on the flowers?? So pretty!

Thank you so much for popping in, or for being a subscriber, I appreciate you!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Soft and Romantic Congrats – Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194

Welcome Friends! It’s Sunday and that means another challenge from Sunday Stamps is all lined up for you!

07:12SSC105fAren’t these colors AMAZING?? They make me want to make something soft and romantic! And just coincidentally, I have a wedding reception to attend this weekend! Perfect!!

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194I pulled out a mixture of current and retired Stampin’ Up! stamps for this project. I have saved this stamp set called Love and Laughter for years, hoping to get a chance to use it and now that I have the chance, I wasn’t going to pass it up simply because the stamp set is retired!! I don’t go to many weddings anymore I guess!

I paired it up with a delightful image from a current set called Awesomely Artistic. I think the image is reminiscent of a bridal bouquet.

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194I love the softness of the stamping done in Simon Says Stamp Fog for the lighter gray and then Smoke for the darker gray. I kept the sentiment in the lighter color but punched it out with the Washi Tape punch to give it a bit more presence.

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194It took just a few minutes to snip the image out and adhere it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I found this delightful adhesive glimmer dot in my collection…I think it looks perfect!!

I backed the front panel with some Fog cardstock and then popped the whole thing up with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the card base. I also stamped coordinating images on the envelope. I hope they like it!!

I used the sketch by the delightful Linda Callahan over at Freshly Made Sketches as my jumping off point for this card…I hope they can still see it in there!!

FMS Final 194-001Thanks so much for visiting me, I know I’ve been quiet lately but the summer is the one time that the pace of my husband’s job slows down a bit so I like to spend every minute that I can with him! I will be back more regularly in August!!

I hope you love the colors as much as I do!! Please be inspired by the rest of the awesome designs by the Sunday Stamps design team and I can’t wait to see your designs as well!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Chalk Sayings – SSSC265

Happy Hump Day!! I was able to do a bit of stamping this weekend and I thought that the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge would be a great way to showcase some new stamps I picked up on Saturday!

1-IMG_8186Aren’t they FUN?? I used a set from The Stamps of Life called morechalksayings2stamp. I chose this combination of sentiments so that this card would be able to cover a wide variety of situations…birthday of course, but also graduation, new job, making the team, passing the test, getting the promotion, LOTS of things, right? I used my MISTI to align the greeting up perfectly within my square, as well as the sentiment within the banner. Love that tool!

I also broke out some papers from The Stamps of Life April card kit. I love the cheerful squiggles and the green highlights them! I also used some of the twin from the card kit, I’m in love with the fact that it has THREE colors in it! Fun!!

I originally envisioned a clean white backdrop but ended up adding a few polka dots 🙂 They are actually a flower base stamp from a Simon Says Stamp set, but I really like the perfectly imperfect circles they create! I also added little confetti pops with a bit of sparkle in the center…such a happy card!

3-IMG_8188The Stamps of Life manufacturing facility is located relatively close to me, in Irvine, CA and several time a year they open their facility for a card class taught by the owner/designer Stephanie Bernard, as well opening a small shop located within their manufacturing facility. I was fortunate to attend both this weekend!! Here is a picture of the card class:

2-IMG_8172And here is a peek at their store and Stephanie mingling with the crowd:

1-IMG_8171It was quite crowded in there but I managed to acquire some fun new goodies to share with you, including the stamp set I used here today! I was also fortunate enough to be able to meet and chat with Stephanie one-on-one for a bit! She’s just as sweet in person as she is in her videos!

Thank you for stopping by!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Special Delivery – MFTWSC219 & SSS Wednesday Challenge

I know I’m a bit late with today’s post, but I haven’t been able to stamp for the past few days and this card has been percolating in my head since Wednesday night…it needed to get onto paper, lol!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-001The inspiration for this project was actually two challenges, the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge:

219and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which this week is Things That Fly.

wednesdayblog-logoHow fun is that?!? When I started through my stamps for something that flies, I came across this set, Special Delivery by Clearly Besotted Stamps, almost immediately and thought it was a cute variation on the theme, yes, it’s a bird, but it’s a stork, we don’t see that one everyday!!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-003I have oodles and oodles of paper, but finding the right one for this card was tough. My mind set was baby theme, but I tend to shy away from the typical blue and pink, I wanted something a bit different. I fell in love with this subtle pattern paper but had a devil of a time deciding which color to pair it with! I finally settled on Pistachio Pudding ink color and I think it works very well here.

SKP Watermarked Photos3-004I added in a bit of blue with my enamel dots and then was beyond tickled to find a pattern paper for my envelope liner that is JUST the right shade of blue to compliment the card and the dots…so fun!!

Thank you for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with a new challenge from The Paper Players!

Wishing you joy and blessings!
