Letters for You Birthday Style

I was browsing the internet and came across a stamp image from another company that had the letters ‘hb2u” and I thought “I can do that with product I already have!” and thus a card was born…don’t you love when you can make something fun with something you ALREADY own?!?

The products in Stampin’ Up!’s new catalog are now available for purchase! I have a rather largish order arriving on Monday…can’t wait!

Today’s card features some products from the amazing Birthday Delivery Photopolymer Bundle. Besides stamps and dies (as if that wasn’t awesome enough), this bundle comes with pretty paper!

It is an amazing set of papers in an amazing suite of products that I know you will get tons of use from. The colors in this particular pattern are (from left to right) Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist, Pacific Point, Blushing Bride and Real Red. Which gives use LOTS of options!! I chose to highlight Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist and Rich Razzleberry, stamping each ink onto it’s matching card stock and die cutting with the coordinating Large Letter Framelits Dies.

Everything has been framed in Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto a layer of Crumb Cake card stock. The Crumb Cake card stock has been embossed with one of my favorite, but sadly now retired, embossing folders so I thought I would give it one last run through the Big Shot while I wait for the the NEW Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder to arrive 🙂

The adorable birthday hat was die cut from one of the patterns in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper with its’ coordinating die in the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies. So quick and easy!!

Inside is a sweet sentiment, appropriate for any age!

Masculine Vintage Leaves – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 14

Stampin-Up-Vintage-Leaves-masculine-Birthday-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-Stampinup

Hello my stamping friends! I’m excited to see the number “14” in the title of my blog post today…I’m almost halfway through my 30 day “post a card a day”challenge!! Today’s card was made with a 20-something young professional in mind. I hope he’s not too old to receive a hand made card from his mom 😉

The Details:

  • The card base is Tip Top Taupe, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
  • The next layer is Early Espresso trimmed to 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • The stamped layer is 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″. I trimmed it close so just a peek of Early Espresso would be visible.

  • I wanted a nice masculine pattern and color palette so Stampin’ Up!’s Moroccan Designer Series Paper is the color inspiration for today’s card.
  • Guy Greetings is the source of this classically styled birthday greeting. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp it repeatedly over the card face in Early Espresso, Tip Top Taupe, Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon

  • Fall leaves seemed like the perfect focal point. These leave are from Vintage Leaves and are stamped in Early Espresso onto Tip Top Taupe and Cajun Craze card stock and then die cut using the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies.
  • Linen Thread peeks out from behind the leaves to ground them and a little knot of thread sits on top as an additional accent.

  • Stampin’ Up!’s Party with Cake provides the sentiment today, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, along with three silly little candles stamped in Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon to dress it up.

The Paper Players challenge this week is clean and simple: leaf so I’m thrilled to link up and play along with their great group!

And my card also fits the Seize the Birthday challenge where their theme is “Anything Goes” Birthday with the added topping of: “Lots of Leaves” so I am playing along there as well! Whew!

I’m tickled with today’s project, the colors really balance well and make me happy. And with the wind blowing yesterday and today, there are LOTS of leaves on the ground! It’s almost like fall here in Southern California!! (Almost)

Watercolor Words – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 11

Stampin Up Watercolor Words Everyday Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Today’s card is an everyday kind of card. The kind you can send to just say “hey”. Who doesn’t love to receive that kind of mail? This card was made for someone who lives a quiet life so I sure hope this brightens his day!

The Details:

  • The card base is Night of Navy cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • The lovely paper is from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper Pack and is trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″

  • I used the Watercolor Words Photopolymer Stamp set on this project. The sentiment is stamped on scrap Thick Whisper White and die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. The stars, from the same stamp set, are stamped directly onto the Designer Series Paper. Easy!
  • I used retired Candy Dots in Night of navy to add some bling to my design. I like the matte finish of them for this masculine card.

  • The Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp set has tons of words to mix and match to create custom sentiments like the one used here-so fun to create your own!
  • I used the retired Envelope Liners Framelits Dies to create a coordinating envelope liner, also from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper

A paper named “Floral Boutique” would not have been my go to for a masculine card, just goes to show how well Stampin’ Up! plans their products because there is something for everyone in every pack of Designer Series paper!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Masculine Card Idea – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 7

Stampin Up Masculine From Land to Sea Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I’ve switched gears to share an idea for a masculine card, we ALWAYS need those!

The Details:

  • The Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack is a 6″ x 6″ paper stack that is perfect for gender neutral cards! I have showcased two different patterns today
  • I chose Crumb Cake, Tip Tip Taupe and Marina Mist to coordinate with the pattern papers
  • Layers are a fun way to add depth and interest while still keeping the design clean

  • The From Land To Sea stamp set has wonderful realistic seaside images, I used my paper snips to trim out this one which reminds me of the Saint Augustine Lighthouse. So pretty!
  • The sentiment and the ‘sand dune’ are from the recently retired but hugely popular Thoughtful Branches Photopolymer Stamp set but you could use really any sentiment you want. I love this one because it covers SO many occasions!
  • Did you see the tiny scallops around the sentiment! It’s from the Layered Circles Framelits Dies, the scallops get so cute as they get smaller!

  • The tiny bits of Marina Mist really help to add visual interest while the bits of Linen Thread do that as well as adding a “beachy” vibe.
  • I refrained from using any Wink of Stella on this card…it was tough to do!!

I hope you are enjoying the daily inspiration, I sure am having fun creating them!

From Land to Sea Meets Guy Greetings – Freshly Made Sketches #243

From Land to Sea Meets Guy Greetings - Freshly Made Sketches #243

I’m thrilled to share this fun sketch by Amy over at the Freshly Made Sketches Design Team:

FMS Final 243-001

It’s such a clean sketch with LOTS of possibilities! My first thought was how perfect the sketch would be to showcase a designer series paper!

From Land to Sea Meets Guy Greetings - Freshly Made Sketches #243

The beautiful nautical paper inspired me to pull out a new-to-me stamp set called From Land to Sea. I paired the lovely Dapper Denim with two neutral colors, Early Expresso and Crumb Cake to keep the focus on the lovely pattern and color. The clean lines really emphasize the masculine feel to the card, as does this sentiment from the Guy Greetings stamp set. Also a new-to-me set, even though they have both been around for at least one catalog cycle. I am thrilled that with how well they work together and foresee more masculine cards in my future!
