It’s Your Day! – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #68

Guess what day it is – it’s Thursday! and that means I’m back with a brand new Tic Tac Toe Challenge Board! Woot Woot! Today’s board was designed by challenge creator Felicita and has some fun options!

I went with the far right column Summer, Scene, and free (YAY for free!!):

Details:

  • I have a guilty secret – creating scenes scares me!! Anytime someones gives me a set of directions, I’m only good for about three, after that, forget it, I just can’t remember them all, the same principle applies when creating a scene. I’m only good for about three steps and then I lose sight of the vision. So when I saw that on the board – eek!!
  • Ditto goes for stamp sets that are multi-layer like the one I used here, Mountain Air. So I kept my scene simple with only two layers of scene. I used a sponge to add blue to the tree layer in the hopes that it would look like a lake, and backed everything with Seaside Spray card stock for the sky.

  • I framed my (summer) scene out with the Nested Labels dies and added my fly fisherman on top. I used a simple sentiment on the right to balance out the fisherman on the left and then offset the sentiment just to be quirky 🙂

  • I kept the interior blank so the card can be used for various occasions, probably a birthday or Father’s Day.
  • Did you see the fun flies I stamped on the envelope flap? Such a cute stamp!!

I hope you are feeling inspired by today’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge Board and that you will join in on the fun! Be sure to check out the rest of the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Design Team’s designs for lots more inspiration!

For My Friend-A-Saurus – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #66

Happy Tic-Tac-Toe Thursday! I’m so happy to feature a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge board for you today!

For this board I chose to use the left to right diagonal – vintage, circle, and brads!

Details:

  • What’s more vintage than dinosaurs?!? Not much, right? I have hemmed and hawed over this set since it came out last year but hadn’t pulled the trigger, so when the coordinating paper was offered as a Sale-A-Bration incentive, I went ahead and purchased the bundle – I’m so happy I did! Isn’t this little lady adorable?

  • My favorite part of this card is the spines on the dinosaur’s back – I mean, if you are going to have them, wouldn’t you want them to be sparkly?!? Yep, me too! I used the Shimmer White Embossing Powder to create them – what a fun product!
  • The brads part of the challenge was, well, a bit of a challenge! I haven’t used any brads in a realllyyy long time, but in looking through my stash I found these glimmer brads in Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie and figured those colors were close enough – and I think they coordinate very well!

  • This combination of Mango Melody and Lovely Lipstick really won my heart. It was so bright and cheerful I felt it didn’t need anything else so left it as is – more room for my message

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to play along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week!

Blessings to You!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Stampin-Up-Amazing-Life-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-shannonkaypaperie

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! I know many of you will read this on March 17th, the day after St. Patrick’s Day but, hey! with all the things going on in the world today, I’m a day behind! lol

Measurements:

  • Granny Apple Green Card Base 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Layer of White Card Stock  3 7/8″ x 4 5/8″
  • Layer of Checked DSP 3 5/16″ x 4 1/2″
  • Layer of Basic Black Card Stock 2 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Layered of Polka Dot DSP 2″ x 3 3/4″

Details:

  • Did you even KNOW that Stampin’ Up! has a shamrock stamp?!? Me either. They hid it in the Amazing Life stamp set. Just one little shamrock, but how cute is it?
  • I’ve mentioned my lack of enthusiasm for St. Patrick’s Day green, which in Stampin’ Up! colors is Garden Green, but Granny Apple Green? Yum!! I’m in love with how vibrant it is against black and white, it really pops!

  • Do you love this card? Me too! I got in a hurry with my photo editing and used the watermark that says this is an original design by me, but in actuality, we must thank Jamie from Stamp It Up with Jaime for her lovely design! I love the shade of green she chose as well as the nod to St. Patrick’s Day as I can use it at any time of the year. And there are lots of reasons we would want to wish someone good luck right? 🙂
  • Lots of things popped up today! I stamped the sentiment twice, fussy cut the work luck out, and then popped it up on dimensionals. I colored the shamrock with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, fussy cut it out as well, and popped it up on dimensionals too! And the die cut circle? Yup! How about the polka dotted paper layer? Yup, yup, yup, dimensionals everywhere. This card is going to cost me a fortune to mail!!  🙂 🙂 🙂

  • Did you ever do something to a card that you wish you hadn’t? That’s me right now. I added a cute little trio of circles to the inside sentiment, regretted it immediately, and added more in an effort to compensate. Now I feel like my card has the chicken pox! lol

Ah well, I’m going to blame my distracted-ness on the turmoil that is all over the news. I’m torn between wanting up-to-the-second updates on what is happening in the world and burying my head in my pillow and blocking it all out. So I finally turned the TV off and I think I’ll just keep on craftin’ instead!

Stay safe and healthy my peeps!! XX

Bella Rose Delight – Freshly Made Sketches 418

      Stampin-Up-Bella-Rose-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup-SU

Today I am sharing a card made with much love for a challenge but I ran out of time to get it photographed and posted before I went out of town on a trip. Have YOU ever thought you could accomplish much more than you actually could?!? Please tell me I’m not alone!

      Measurements:

      • White Card Base 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″

      Details:

      • I’ve combined a bit of old and new with this card. This DSP by Stampin’ Up! – oh my goodness – I can’t even tell you how pretty I think it is! It’s a bit funny to me now because when I first started with Stampin’ Up!, I did NOT care for the color Red Riding Hood at all. But when paired with Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss, it is just YUMMY!!
      • I adore the sketch this week and ventured outside of my SU supplies to use this wonderful curved edge die by MFT Stamps.

      Stampin-Up-Bella-Rose-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup-SU

      • I stamped the sentiment in Riding Hood Red, and then used the coordinating die to cut out a mat around it. I then cut out another mat in Kiwi Kiss, cut it in half horizontally and added it as a second mat.
      • I fussed for a bit before settling on adding these delightful butterflies, die cut from the long retired Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die. I do so love combining old and new!
      • The gems I added are from Honeybee Stamps – I have discovered that they have a fun assortment of colored rhinestones!!

      Stampin-Up-Bella-Rose-Love-and-Friendship-Cards-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup-SU

      • For the inside I layered a scalloped die cut on top of a mat of Riding Hood Red, with a pretty scrap of the Bella Rose DSP and a very simple sentiment.

I had so much fun making this card!! I know it is very late for the challenge it was created for, but here is the sketch I used and thank you to the FMS design team for always providing such wonderful inspiration!

      Blessing to You!!

      Vibrant Vases in Highland Heather

      Stampin-Up-Vibrant-Vases-All-Occasion-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup-SU

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day to You!! I whipped up this little card last night after having let the color combination sit on my craft table for almost a week! When moving into a new house or redecorating a room, I like to tell my husband that I have to let the walls “talk” to me before I can hang anything up. Do you do that too? It’s the same with this color combination, it had to percolate a little!

      Measurements:

      • Highland Heather Card Base 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
      • Balmy Blue Stitched Layer 3 3/4″ x 5 1/8″
      • Gray Granite Stitched Layer 3 3/8″ x 4 3/4″
      • Gingham Gala Stitched Circle Layer 2 7/8″
      • Stamped White Card Stock 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″

      Details:

      • I knew when I sat down to create that I wanted to use the new Vibrant Vases stamp set and the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP, both of which are in the new Occasions Catalog and are available now. And purple was a foregone conclusion as it is my favorite color. I don’t decorate with it or wear it, but when choosing plants or flowers, I always seem to pick purple!! Definitely a child of the 80’s and influenced by Prince, lol
      • I stamped the vase and flower posy in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink because I knew I wanted to color it in with Stampin’ Blends. I used both Light and Dark Highland Heather to color and shade the flowers, then Light and Dark Old Olive for the leaves, and then I added Light and Dark Balmy Blue to the mix for the vase. Note: This set does have coordinated stamps to color the flower and vase outline, I just wanted to play with my markers 🙂

      • I used my Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Marker to add a bit of detail to the flower centers, as well as a bit of Wink of Stella.
      • I’m really enjoying playing with all of Stampin’ Up’s stitched dies, they add such a nice touch, but this card can easily be made without them (I’ve provided the measurements above) and would still look beautiful.
      • I just played around with the colors and layers to come up with my layout and couldn’t decide if I should use Balmy Blue or Highland Heather ribbon, so…used both!! These adorable ribbons are available as a free gift with any $50 purchase. The Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack includes 5 spools of ribbon: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist.
      • Retired Old Olive Glittery Enamel Dots add a nice detail (love them) and after sleeping overnight, I came back in and added the Old Olive Banner die cut with a banner die from the just retired Farmhouse Framelits Dies. I trimmed the banner in half and then trimmed quite a bit off to leave just a bit peeking out.

      Stampin-Up-Vibrant-Vases-All-Occasion-Cards-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup-SU

      • The interior is quite simple today, just a trio of Mary’s tulips to brighten it up!

For those who don’t “know” who “Mary” is, she is Mary Fish, my Stampin’ Up! up-line, mentor, and friend. For reaching the $1,000,000 sales goal, she was invited to participate and influence the creation of a stamp set, which is Varied Vases in the Annual Catalog.  It coordinates with the Vase Builder Punch as well as this new set from the Occasions Catalog, Vibrant Vases. The tulip is her signature logo so I can never see one without thinking of her 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a prelude to Spring with my card today!

      Blessings to You!
