Flowering Fields – SIP #28 Anything but Christmas

Hello! I’ve been on a crafting hiatus during this busy time of year, but I found some me time today and tried out some new product that Santa brought to me!

Flowering Fields

One of my favorite new products in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration catalog is Flowering Fields. A versatile set, very soft and pretty!

Details:

  • Colors are Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Hello Honey, Old Olive and Lost Lagoon
  • The card front is watercolor paper, perfect for use with both the Aqua Painter and the Blender Pen. I am challenged with an Aqua Painter so I used a Blender pen. To make sure I get a small amount of  ink, I tap a clean stamp block to the ink pad and then pick ink up from that with the Blender Pen.
  • I painted the flowers with soft color and then went back with a bit more color for shading.
  • The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set called What I Love, and I love the font!! It’s a perfect match for the flowers!!
  • I used linen thread across the front of the card, anchored to the back and then attached the sentiment banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used the linen thread to create a bow and attached it to the banner with a glue dot. Tip: For fine uses such as this bow, I attach the glue dot and then fold it over onto itself (in half) so that it remains hidden.
  • I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base, followed by mats in Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive.
  • The lovely paper used for the envelope liner is from another Sale-A-Bration product, Wildflower Fields DSP (Designer Series Paper)

Flowering Fields

All Sale-A-Bration products will be available with every $50 purchase from Stampin’ Up!, beginning January 5, 2016. That will be easy to do with the wonderful new items coming in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog coming January 5, 2016! If you would like a catalog, please send me an email!

I couldn’t resist dressing up the inside o the card just a bit…

Flowering Fields

I’m playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week which is “Anything but Christmas”. Lol. I love it!

You did a very pretty job on this, Shannon! These two items were my first SAB picks – love them! I am going to use your tip about putting ink on a clear block to pick the ink from when using the Blender Pen. That sounds much easier than squeezing it onto the lid. Thanks!

Shannon, what a gorgeous card to debut your “our of hiatus” status! Your coloring is gorgeous and I love your beautiful linen thread bow. Thanks so much for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper for our Anything BUT Christmas Challenge!

Welcome back! We’ve missed you. I have to say you picked a beautiful stamp set to start off with. It’s nice to something soft after our Christmas bright colors. A great way to soften your colors by inking up your clear block instead of the stamps. I love all the stampers who share their ideas with us. Thank you one and all!

Love your clean, classic design. I also like the natural feel with the linen thread. The inside of the card is so sweet! Would you mind sharing how you made the bow? It turned out so pretty! TFS!
