From the Heart - January Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are showcasing projects using Stampin’ Up! products featuring a theme from any of the following: Valentine’s Day; Thinking of You; Get Well; or Sympathy. All of these themes come “From the Heart.”  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Both of the products I use here today, Stampin’ Up!’s Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack and the First Sight stamp set are really geared toward Valentine’s Day. That is wonderful, believe me, however, I wanted to show that they are both products that can be used year round.

The Details

  • I backed this lovely pattern in Blushing Bride with Whisper White, Blushing Bride, and then a card base of Crumb Cake.
  • A tag from the Chalk Talk Framelits is perfect to showcase the darling floral flourish and sweet sentiment.
  • I stamped off the floral flourish twice to achieve a soft background to stamp the sentiment on.
  • The sentiment is a smidge larger than the tag so I stamped the sentiment both on the pattern paper as well as on the tag.

  • Can you figure out what I used for my rustic bow? I’m pretty tickled with my idea to take Stampin’ Up!’s 1 1/4″ Jute Ribbon and snip the fibers apart. I then combined them with lengths of Linen Thread.
  • The heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack makes a yummy accent. I added a Rhinestone and some Wink of Stella.
  • A line of rhinestones and two bitty Blushing Bride buttons (lonnggggg retired) peeking out on the sides of the tag add just the right amount of bling.

  • I used the same florist to decorate the inside of the card, stamped off to a nice faded look to write over.

Thank you Maggie!! Have you seen Ann Schach’s bow tutorial? It’s awesome. You can search for it on her blog and it will come up. I’ve made lots of bows with her method and after awhile you can’t help but get better! Now my first bows…whole other story 🙂
