Painted Petals – Pals Paper Arts 236

Greetings Friends! I hope you enjoyed the Pals Blog Hop yesterday…there were so many lovely inspirations! I’m back today with a lovely sketch challenge from the Pals Paper Arts design team:

PPA236kwbIsn’t it fun! There’s lots of open space to take advantage of! And did I ever! I inked up the new Painted Petals stamp set and created my own garden!

I had a bit of fun with this, adding green stems every which way until I had the card front covered. I alternated between Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz for the flower stems to add some depth, although I honestly can not see the difference!

Then I just inked up some of the blooms in Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry and Pool Party. I didn’t worry about each flower having it’s own stem and focused more on the overall effect. Did you see the butterflies I added? Every garden needs butterflies, right?!?

I added a bit of the Sale-A-Bration ribbon in Crushed Curry and topped it off with the Gold Baker’s Twine. The sentiment is also from the Painted Blooms stamp set and was perfect for the sketch! I backed it up with some Rich Razzleberry card stock and then covered the card front in Rich Razzleberry as well. I rounded the corners off to show off a bit of the beautiful Rich Razzleberry. It’s the perfect backdrop for my ‘painting’!

Did I stop there? Nope, not today! I continued the theme right on into the inside of the card as well:

And I used a bit of the new Painted Blooms DSP to line my envelope. I think the beautiful blue sets the card off so nicely!

Please hop on over to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge Blog to see the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wishing you joy and blessings always,

Shannon, your card is gorgeous! I love that ribbon. I hadn’t considered getting it, but it’s so pretty, especially with the Baker’s Twine over it! Sparkles! Thanks for playing at PPA~

Thank you so much, Kim!! I appreciate your taking the time to leave me a comment!! BTW, the butterflies were an addition born of necessity…I had a few not so perfect spots that looked MUCH better with a butterfly on top!!

Thank you Sandy!! The patterned paper was too large (IMO) for a card so I decided to try and re-create it. I did snip a few of the stamps apart to do it, but it was worth it!!
