Welcome to another Sunday and a fun new sketch from The Paper Players! I would just like to share that your creations with last week’s color combination were wonderful to see, thank you so much for sharing your talent! This week, Jaydee has given us a fun clean and simple theme challenge:
When I first saw the challenge, I thought “Oh, how fun!” and then spent forever trying to work the card out. I can over think things at times so I took a step back, a deep breath, and cookies; and I was able to re-focus and get on track.
The cookies helped a lot! lol This beautiful flourish is from MFT Stamps and is dreamy! So soft and pretty! It would be so simple to make up gift sets with this die!
I die cut the flourish twice, adhered the layers together and then adhered the nice thick flourish to my water color pattern paper. Isn’t it lovely? And no effort needed, the best part!! I thought this stark label greeting from Altenew, stamped in black, would contrast well with all the softness, and I absolutely love the effect! A few sequins and done! Quick and easy!
Here’s one last close up of the details…
I hope you have a minute to peek at the inspiring designs from the rest of the design team! I can’t wait to see your creations over on the challenge blog!

Thank you SO much, Ashwini, for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment!!
Love that flourish, and you are right, the sentiment is the perfect touch to compliment it! Love this!
OMGosh this is so beautiful and I love how you used the die. I have this die and never used it, think I might have to kopykat this one.
Thank you Holly! Feel free!!
OH my that flourish die is beautiful! Love the soft watercolor wash background. I totally relate to the tendency to over-think the design. I do it all.the.time! Next time, I’ll have to try your cookie method, lol!
This is just beautiful! The flourish die is so feminine and the watercolors washed background is fabulous! I always over think my cards! I will start using the cookie technique, too! I love that! XX
Wow, I adore that flourish! And it works so well with the soft watercolored background and the bold sentiment! Gorgeous card!
This is just stunning, Shannon….so simple, yet very ethereal and sparkly with the flourish and sequins! Beautiful! BTW, got my Misti already…and already gave myself a pinch with the magnets, LOL! I am happy with it so far but I am practicing, practicing, practicing!
Gorgeous, Shannon! I love that flourish die and I must have it. Thanks for enabling me yet again, lol! You always make your cards look so easy. I am also making a mental note of the cookie tip. Chocolate chip?
A beautiful and very elegantly styled card that is also CAS. Love it, Shannon!!
This is such a beautifully soft and dreamy card Shannon – that die cut swirl is fabulous against the watercolour dsp background. The cookies obviously worked – this card is stunning!
Cookies always help in the creative process! 🙂 I love how this came out, Shannon. The soft background is so perfect with the flourish die cut. Simply stunning!
Shannon, I hear you on the overthinking a card part….. sometimes I can spend hours fiddling and pfaffing and then just have to walk away! The finished product is fabulous. I love those white soft swirls against the background and the way the sentiment just poppa off the page. Fabulous!
