Hello stamping friends! Today’s project is a little something I whipped up for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, they have such a fun sketch this week!
I thought the large panel would be the perfect spot to stamp with this adorable set from last month’s Clearly Besotted Stamps release, So Tweet. I altered the shape of the card from square to rectangular so as to better mimic with my tall skinny birdhouse.
The birdhouse and its’ roof are two separate stamps so, after consideration, I decided to die cut the birdhouse shape first, and then stamp on it. Once I had the birdhouse die cut, I adhered it to a rectangular piece of cardstock in order to place it into one of the corners of my MISTI. I then placed my stamp over the die cut shape and fiddled with it until I thought the placement was good, closed the MISTI lid to pick the stamp up, and then inked it up and stamped (and held my breath, lol). The stamped image was perfectly placed (whew) but needed a bit more ink coverage, so I inked it up again and re-stamped. I love that the MISTI allows me to stamp perfectly multiple times! It’s amazing!!
I even needed to stamp the birdhouse stick twice and managed to line it up perfectly!! What an amazing tool this is!!
I love the sweet font on the sentiment! And I don’t know if there are really birds out there that are yellow and blue, but those were the colors in my pattern paper that I was trying to draw out, so please give me some artistic latitude!!
I added a liberal coating of Wink of Stella to the heart, it’s so cute in real life!
Thank so much for visiting me today!! I appreciate your visits and love your comments! As always, please email me if I can answer any questions!!
Wishing you joy and blessings!

You have the greatest collection of patterned paper, Shannon. Thanks for inspiring me to go buy more, just what I need! Super cute card. I love the bird house.
I love it when I am the enabler!! lol! Thanks for your sweet comments!!
Love your card Shannon. You really inspire me with your beautiful cards. Do you use a wink of stella pen or marker? Not sure what the difference is!
Thank you Patti! That is SO sweet of you to say!! Your question of Wink of Stella had me stumped…I had to go to Amazon to look it up!! The description on Amazon says it is a glitter ‘brush marker pen’, lol, so I guess it is both a marker AND a pen!! To me, it’s more like a fine paint brush that dispenses pretty glittery shine onto your card…without the yucky glitter part where it gets on everything…this is a sparkly coating, no stuff to fall off, which makes it the best thing ever in my book!
I think I saw yellow and blue birds with polka dot wings in my backyard just this morning…….wink wink! You take all the artistic latitude you want. When they’re that cute no one will dare say anything! 🙂
My question is WHY aren’t there blue and yellow birds with polka dot wings?? Don’t you think that would be awesome???
Love the card. The papers are great, will have to get that paper pad. 🙂
Thanks, Trish!! It’s a pretty pad. I have a 6×6 paper problem and invested in one or two (wink) while at the Scrapbook Expo recently 🙂 In fact, I invested in so many that I had to check my bag while I continued to shop because the paper was too heavy!! lol
Oh my gosh, could you hear me squeal all the way over here in PA? SO CUTE! Just got my first CB stamps yesterday…wish I had gotten this set too!
Aw, thanks LeAnne!! How fun that you just got some CB stamps! They are my favorite!! Have fun!
How very sweet yor card is today. Colorful but not too much. I’m a lover of simple and sweet!
