Details:

  • Guy Greetings is the star of this card! What a fantastic combination of fonts and images! Stamped here in Early Espresso they are the essence of cool and sophisticated. I used my MISTI to align the images and then used my Stampin’ Trimmer to trim the card stock down. I provided the dimensions for you, but really I just eye balled it to whatever looked good.
  • Coffee Break Designer Series paper isn’t just for coffee! The colors and clean lines lend themselves perfectly to any number of masculine themed cards! And you know I love to line my envelopes…isn’t the striped pattern of the envelope liner the perfect compliment to the card? Love it!
  • The combination of whites in the sentiment panel, the background of the designer series paper and then the card base keep the design of the card light and fresh.
  • I reached for my enamel shapes to tuck a few in the upper left hand corner, but alas, they are not available in the neutral palette, so I reached instead into my retired stash and pulled out some Early Espresso Candy Dots…love those things! They are the perfect accent! (I realize I’ve been saying that for about fours years now, but when it’s true, it’s true!)

  • I finished the inside off with coordinating card stock and a sentiment from the recently retired Balloon Adventures stamp set. It’s timeless!

This color combination is perfect for guy cards and one that I’ll go back to and use again!

Today’s card was inspired by THREE challenges! CAS(E) this Sketch provided the layout and The Paper Players and Stamp, Ink, Paper provided themes! I can’t usually juggle that many but for some reason I managed all three with one clean and layered card!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend doing whatever brings you joy!!

Whimsical Birthday Wishes – The Paper Players 332

Whimsical Birthday Wishes Birthday Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampin Up

Every once in awhile a product comes along that just makes you melt. This pattern paper is it for me. It’s called Cupcakes and Carousels by Stampin’ Up! and is new in the Occasions Catalog. It comes in the perfectly porportioned 6″ x 6″ size and has the most delightful patterns in it!

The Details:

  • So Saffron card base cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Early Expresso card stock cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack cut to 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
  • Early Expresso card stock cut to 2 1/2″ x 4″
  • Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack cut to 2 3/8″ x 3 7/8″

  • This playful sentiment from the Better Together Stamp Set pairs perfectly with the playful pattern paper. It’s stamped in Bermuda Bay and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (first time using them, can’t live without them), and then layered onto a lovely scalloped oval die cut from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. I wasn’t sure they would pair together since they are from different die sets, but of course they do, because Stampin’ Up! takes care of us like that 🙂

  • The darling party hat was stamped in Early Expresso ink, fussy cut out, and colored in with my So Saffron Stampin’ Marker. I thought about coloring the polka dots in Bermuda Bay but chickened out because I wasn’t sure I would like it and added Wink of Stella instead. Perfect choice! Love it!

  • I used Early Expresso Baker’s Twine (which is retired BTW) to make a cheerful double bow and added So Saffron Enamel Dots as the final accent. I LOVE that they are available in all the colors!
  • Each layer that you see backed by Early Expresso card stock is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love layers and the depth they provide. Hint: I snip my Stampin’ Dimensionals in half so they go twice as far…I may or may not be a Dimensionals hoarder 🙂

  • And the inside! This sentiment is from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set, also from the 2017 Occasions Catalog and is a favorite of mine. It’s so fun here stamped in Bermuda Bay onto Very Vanilla yardstick and backed by Early Expresso card stock. Love, love, love this color combination. My mom insists blue and brown do not go together, so funny enough, they are one of my favorite combinations! lol

Today’s card was inspired completely by my desire to use the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack and this week’s challenge over at The Paper Players:

  • The sentiment from the new Balloon Adventures Stamp Set is so cheerful in a fresh fun font and pairs beautifully with this balloon die from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies and can be purchased as a bundle for a savings of 15%! Awesome!
  • I die cut the balloon from both Emerald Envy and Pacific Point and used the Fin Tip Glue Pen to adhere the pieces to my card front.
  • Yes, the Envelope Liner Die is retired but I just cannot resist showing off more of the pretty papers in this DSP!
  • The Fine Tip Glue Pen makes adhering a bit of Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine a snap!

  • I used other sentiments from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set to decorate the inside of the card as well!
  • I couldn’t stop stamping so I added some fun confetti and a balloon to the outside of the envelope…I just love Pacific Point and Emerald Envy together!

I looked to my favorite challenge blog for layout inspiration for today’s card:

Thank you to all these wonderful ladies for providing inspiration each and every week!

So what do you think? It’s pretty simple, I know, but not having put ink to paper in almost three months, I have to start somewhere!

Thank you so much for your continued message of courage and inspiration while I have been away, I have read and deeply appreciated each and every one. The world is still a very scary place for me, but little by little, I feel the fog lifting and look forward to each new day.
