Let Your Dreams Take Flight – CAS(E) This Sketch #362

Fun-Stampers-Journey-Blue-Skies-Congratulation-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-Shannon-Kay-Paperie

What?!? Purple AGAIN?? Absolutely!! I am over the moon for the combination of Highland Heather and Seaside Spray! Isn’t it delightful? It’s raining today in Southern California and I think the rain outside has affected my color choices 🙂

Measurements:

  • Highland Heather Card Base 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Seaside Spray Card Stock 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • White Card Stock 3 3/4″ x 5″

Details:

  • Super simple design today for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge today! I came across this darling hot air balloon and KNEW it was THE one! I have used it before here and I really wanted to color it again, this time with alcohol markers. It was SO quick and easy to color!!

  • Honestly, I went through every.single.stamp. I own to find the right sentiment for the sketch! But I’m very happy with the one I finally decided on. It’s from a very old set (I think) that I purchased secondhand, in a jumble of sets actually, by a company I have never heard of, but it was hot air balloons so I kept it and I’m so glad I did!
  • Once again, I have used gems from Honeybee Stamps. They really have a fantastic selection of colors!!

  • Mmmm, I added Wink of Stella to the base and top of the balloon for a soft shimmer (which you can only just barely see, but it’s there!). And an itty Bitty Calypso Coral banner up top!

  • A quick peek at the inside sentiments, which I think would work wonderfully for a graduation, a job change, or even a move to a new city!

Thank you to the CAS(E) This Sketch design team for their wonderful inspiration this week! It’s been a bit since I played – so glad I jumped in this week!!

Stampin-Up-Vintage-Leaves-Thank-You-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

I made this card this past weekend and then was sick and didn’t get the post completed so I’m squeaking in at the last minute for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge for this week. I’m having so much fun with Fall themes this year! Here’s the sketch that was my inspiration:

Details:

  • It’s funny that I almost didn’t purchase the fall DSP from Stampin’ Up! called Painted Autumn this year. I’m glad I did because I’m loving the way the patterns play off of each other. For this card, I didn’t add any base layers under the DSP, I just let the patterns shine.
  • One of my all time favorite stamps sets is Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up!. I just love the illustration of the leaves. I love this leaf particularly (although I have no idea what tree it’s from…Maple?) and stamped it in Early Espresso ink and die cut it with the coordinating framelits.
  • The ‘thankful’ die is by Catherine Pooler and came in one of her Stamps of Approval kits. It’s perfect here in Early Espresso. I die cut two of the word dies and layered them one on top of the other for a bit of added depth.

  • A double looped Linen Twine bow and a single sweet Early Espresso button (retired) finish this clean and simple card.
  • I accidentally pulled out the wrong card stock for this card so it’s Rustic White instead of Vintage Cream, but I think it works better, I believe some ‘accidents’ happen for a reason! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my post and I hope you are inspired to check out the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge…they have fun designs to work with, week after week!

Blessings to you!

I Have Enough Stamp Sets…Oh Look, More Stamps!!

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

How seriously fun is Stella Stamper?? I purchased this stamp set from someone who was selling all of her stamps and thought “This is a CLASSIC!” Had to have it and today’s challenge from The Paper Players to color was the incentive to pull this girl out and color her up!! CAS(E) this Sketch has a great layout and here we are, it all just came together so easily!!

Details:

  • 1999. This stamp set is 18 years old and inked up perfectly! Now that is Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y.
  • There isn’t anything hard about this card, I just stamped Stella with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and pulled out my Stampin’ Write Markers!
  • I must have 25 markers strewn all over my work space, so I’m not going to list all the colors. Some are current and some are retired.

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • I do remember that Stella’s dress is Powder Pink (I seriously love this pink) and her smock is So Saffron. These are regular markers, not alcohol markers, so some lines do show when coloring, especially when coloring large areas like her smock so I just added squiggles in after the fact. Now it just looks like it’s been well loved!
  • I love the cord from her heat tool dangling out of her bag…she’s so excited to stamp she just threw everything in higgily piggily!
  • For those who are new to Stampin’ Up!, that’s a Stampin’ Wheel in her hand. We used to be able to purchase different stamp designs wrapped around a wheel so we could use them to stamp borders 🙂

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Cards-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • She who dies with the most stamps wins…in Stella’s case it looks like she who dies with the most INKS wins!
  • I colored the ink pads in all different colors, I love how there are smudges of ink everywhere, we must be honest here, stamping IS messy!!
  • I backed my colored image with Basic Black and Fresh Fig card stock and added an itty bitty bow to the sentiment in Linen Thread.
  • The envelope flap is covered in Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Today’s card is a reminder to let your hair down and have fun with your hobby! Stella is and I am too! Hope you make something fun today!!

Thank you to both The Paper Players and CAS(E) this Sketch design teams for always providing such great inspiration!

Blessings to you!

The Best Day Ever… – CAS(E) this Sketch #227

Stampin-Up-Flirty-Flowers-Wedding-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

Hello Friends! I hope you are having a marvelous weekend! It’s hot here so I’m enjoying some air conditioning and quiet crafty time. There’s nothing better, right? I finally found a sketch perfect for this tall slender bloom from a new stamp from Stampin’ Up! called Flirty Flowers. This stamp set is so dainty and sweet that it made it to the very tip top of my must have list!

This set pairs SO well with these prints from the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack. I almost passed on this DSP on my first order, I’m so glad I didn’t, it looks amazing!

Details:

  • Can you see the sparkle on the pretty flower? It dazzles and for once, the camera caught it! I’m SO excited!!
  • I used the same striped Sweet Sugarplum pattern that was used for the envelope liner to back the floral pattern, the main image and the sentiment rather than card stock. It just looked softer, somehow.
  • I stamped the matching image in the front of the envelope…it’s just THAT sweet!
  • The ribbons are amazing this year so I’m trying to feature them as much as I can. Here I’ve used the 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Sweet Sugarplum. It’s not stiff like grosgrain ribbons have been in the past, it’s very soft and flexible.

Stampin-Up-Flirty-Flowers-Wedding-Cards-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • I used the smallest circle in the Layering Circles Framelits Dies for the sentiment and backed it with another circle punched with the 1 1/4″ punch in order to be consistent with the width of all the layers.
  • I can’t say enough about the Glimmer Enamel Dots. They are so very sparkly and can be used with so MANY colors. Just buy two packs!

Stampin-Up-Flirty-Flowers-Wedding-Cards-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup.jpg

  • The Soft Sayings Card Kit has a fantastic choice of sentiments! I love the classic font on this sentiment, it looks so nice against the stripes of the envelope liner!

Thank you to the talented designers of the CAS(E) this Sketch design team for another fun sketch!

See you next time!!

Happy Birthday to a Classic

Stampin-Up-Guy-Greetings-Masculine-Birthday-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

Today I wanted to share this fun birthday card I whipped up. Masculine cards can be tough but Stampin’ Up!’s new Coffee Break Designer Series Paper made this one easy!

Stampin-Up-Guy-Greetings-Masculine-Birthday-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

Details:

  • Guy Greetings is the star of this card! What a fantastic combination of fonts and images! Stamped here in Early Espresso they are the essence of cool and sophisticated. I used my MISTI to align the images and then used my Stampin’ Trimmer to trim the card stock down. I provided the dimensions for you, but really I just eye balled it to whatever looked good.
  • Coffee Break Designer Series paper isn’t just for coffee! The colors and clean lines lend themselves perfectly to any number of masculine themed cards! And you know I love to line my envelopes…isn’t the striped pattern of the envelope liner the perfect compliment to the card? Love it!
  • The combination of whites in the sentiment panel, the background of the designer series paper and then the card base keep the design of the card light and fresh.
  • I reached for my enamel shapes to tuck a few in the upper left hand corner, but alas, they are not available in the neutral palette, so I reached instead into my retired stash and pulled out some Early Espresso Candy Dots…love those things! They are the perfect accent! (I realize I’ve been saying that for about fours years now, but when it’s true, it’s true!)

Stampin-Up-Guy-Greetings-Masculine-Birthday-Cards-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • I finished the inside off with coordinating card stock and a sentiment from the recently retired Balloon Adventures stamp set. It’s timeless!

This color combination is perfect for guy cards and one that I’ll go back to and use again!

Today’s card was inspired by THREE challenges! CAS(E) this Sketch provided the layout and The Paper Players and Stamp, Ink, Paper provided themes! I can’t usually juggle that many but for some reason I managed all three with one clean and layered card!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend doing whatever brings you joy!!
