Petals & Paisleys & Posies – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 17

Stampin Up Paisleys & Posies Thank You Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I’ve lived almost all of my life in Southern California and we DO NOT have fall. So I never understood all the cards with a fall color palette. Then I went to Missoula, Montana in October, and while the colors were not fully developed, I saw enough to understand how beautiful they are. And because of that, I finally ordered the Petals and Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is AMAZING.

The Details:

  • Card layers:
    • Delightful Dijon case base cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
    • Very Vanilla layer is cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Soft Suede layer is cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
    • Designer Series Paper is cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″
    • Soft Suede is cut to 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Designer Series Paper is cut to 2 1/2″ x 4″
    • Soft Suede Layer is cut to 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
    • Designer Series paper is cut to 3″ x 3″

  • I know there are a lot of layers (!) But I felt that every layer was necessary to do justice to the colors in the pattern paper. I originally did not have the Very Vanilla layer but when I layered the sentiment layer on top of the card, it was just too bright. The Very Vanilla in the Designer Series Paper is muted. So to compensate, I added the VV layer and now everything is balanced!
  • The sentiment from the Paisleys & Posies Photopolymer Stamp Set is so simple and graphic, it really plays off of the striped DSP nicely. I used my MISTI to stamp. I stamped the top image onto a piece of acetate, then set the acetate over my Very Vanilla piece of card stock. I lined the image up and stamped it in Delightful Dijon, then moved the Very Vanilla card stock up until I had the second image lined up. I removed the acetate, stamped the image in Cajun Craze and then repeated the process, stamping the last image in Soft Suede.

  • I confess, I bought the Paisleys & Posies Bundle because of this leaf die. Isn’t is stunning in Cajun Craze? Jumps right off the card!! I die cut the leaf twice and then used my fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two layers together, as well as adhere the leaf to the card. Love, love, love it.
  • I played around with the ribbons, adding and subtracting the Rich Razzleberry ribbon. I hadn’t used it anywhere else on the card so wasn’t quite sure it fit, but in the end, I loved it and it had to stay.
  • I added Rich Razzleberry to the overall design by using the color in the envelope liner. I think the three patterns are fantastic together.

  • I also added Rich Razzleberry on the inside of the card as well. Soft Suede for the sentiment, Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze for the leaves, which mimic the die cut leaf on the front.

I am OVER THE MOON for this card. The colors, the patterns, the stamps and dies, and the ribbons. WOW. What a great suite of products. And I almost didn’t buy them. Crazy.

Here is the view from my mom’s balcony in Missoula, Montana that changed the way I look at fall:

I came across the layout I used here today in the current challenge from the Global Design Project challenge. I’m sneaking in under the wire but thankful to be able to play along!!

Stampin’ Up!’s Spooky fun Halloween Treat – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 16

Stampin Up Spooky Fun Halloween Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays; however, I am finding the older I get, the less scary and more fun Halloween needs to be!

I think this card fits that bill perfectly!

The Details:

  • Card Layers:
    • Whisper White Base cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
    • Pumpkin Pie card stock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ (popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals)
    • Basic Black card stock cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″
    • Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

  • I LOVE these bold stripes!! So fun, cheerful, and absolutely NOT scary! I layered card stock underneath it to mimic the colors and used a quarter inch spacing between the layers to really play up the bold colors.
  • The Halloween Treat stamp set is a single set, PERFECT for treat bags and tags. Since that is the obvious use for it, I wanted to add it to a card instead. I stamped it, fussy cut it out, and popped it up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The peeks of Halloween Night Baker’s Twine behind the sentiment are darling and really set off the double bow, attached to the project with a rolled up mini glue dot.

  • I mimicked the colors again on the inside of the card and then used the Spooky Fun Stamp Set to add a fun (not scary) sentiment. I must say, I prefer orange spiders to black ones! Not scary at all!!
  • What do you think of the envelope liner?? Such beautiful patterns in this pack of paper!!

There you have it! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and thank you so much for stopping by! Please let me know what you think, I SO love hearing from you!!

Stampin Up Scenic Sayings Celebration Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

It’s a happy day for several reasons…it’s FRIDAY!!! It’s Day 15 of the card challenge, half way there! AND, I get to celebrate the success of a very special person to me!! That’s a lot of happy for one day!!

The Details:

  • Layers:
    • Thick Whisper White Base: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
    • Melon Mambo, trimmed to 3 5/8″ x 5 1/8″
    • DSP Layer in Crushed Curry is 3 1/2″ x 5″
    • Thick Whisper White Layer 3″ x 4″

  • I chose some bright patterns from the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper. I love that the theme of the set is really Southwestern but they also have some patterns that are not so obvious and can be used in a different way, more bang for your buck! (and the paper is on SALE this month…buy 3, get 1 free!)
  • I had passed over this sentiment in the Scenic Sayings Stamp Set but took another look at it last night…it really stamps prettily and is darling in Melon Mambo.
  • Of course, I dressed the sentiment up with Wink of Stella…HAD to!

  • This itty bitty butterfly is a die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies…isn’t it sweet? I die cut it in Crushed Curry card stock as well as Festive Birthday DSP and layered the two. I then popped the butterfly up on a snipped strip of a Stampin’ Dimensional and dressed it up with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
  • I also sprinkled rhinestones across the card front. That combined with the Wink of Stella on the sentiment makes for a very “glam” design!

  • Simple and to the point on the inside…I love the way the sentiment is “shout-y” 🙂

Masculine Vintage Leaves – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 14

Stampin-Up-Vintage-Leaves-masculine-Birthday-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-Stampinup

Hello my stamping friends! I’m excited to see the number “14” in the title of my blog post today…I’m almost halfway through my 30 day “post a card a day”challenge!! Today’s card was made with a 20-something young professional in mind. I hope he’s not too old to receive a hand made card from his mom 😉

The Details:

  • The card base is Tip Top Taupe, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
  • The next layer is Early Espresso trimmed to 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • The stamped layer is 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″. I trimmed it close so just a peek of Early Espresso would be visible.

  • I wanted a nice masculine pattern and color palette so Stampin’ Up!’s Moroccan Designer Series Paper is the color inspiration for today’s card.
  • Guy Greetings is the source of this classically styled birthday greeting. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp it repeatedly over the card face in Early Espresso, Tip Top Taupe, Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon

  • Fall leaves seemed like the perfect focal point. These leave are from Vintage Leaves and are stamped in Early Espresso onto Tip Top Taupe and Cajun Craze card stock and then die cut using the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies.
  • Linen Thread peeks out from behind the leaves to ground them and a little knot of thread sits on top as an additional accent.

  • Stampin’ Up!’s Party with Cake provides the sentiment today, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, along with three silly little candles stamped in Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon to dress it up.

The Paper Players challenge this week is clean and simple: leaf so I’m thrilled to link up and play along with their great group!

And my card also fits the Seize the Birthday challenge where their theme is “Anything Goes” Birthday with the added topping of: “Lots of Leaves” so I am playing along there as well! Whew!

linky-badgseize-the-birthdaye

I’m tickled with today’s project, the colors really balance well and make me happy. And with the wind blowing yesterday and today, there are LOTS of leaves on the ground! It’s almost like fall here in Southern California!! (Almost)

Mixed Border Meets Swirly Bird – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 13

Stampin Up Mixed Border Birthday Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Yesterday’s card showed how well Mint Macaron coordinated with Peekaboo Peach, today’s card is pairing it up with Island Indigo, also a stunning combination. It feels very fresh and clean.

The Details:

  • The Mixed Borders photopolymer stamp set has five different border stamps that can be aligned either horizontally or vertically. Each border has a blank space off to the right side that can be filled in with any of the four sentiments included. The sentiments can be used with any of the layering framelit dies; squares, circles or even ovals. It is a very versatile set!
  • I included several layers on this card, dimensions below, from case base to top layer:
    • Card Base is Island Indigo, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
    • The next layer is Thick Whisper White cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
    • The Mint Macaron layer is cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
    • The top layer is also Thick Whisper White and is cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″

  • The simple flower border stamp has been stamped four times in Mint Macaron. I used the MISTI for stamping. The grid lines make perfect spacing easy, but the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig would work very well also.
  • I stamped the birthday sentiment first in Mint Macaron, masking off the “Amazing” part, and then switched the masking and stamped “Amazing” in Island Indigo. I then ran the sentiment through the Big Shot with the Layering Circles Framelits Dies and layered it on top of a die cut scallop in Island Indigo.

  • The flowers are found in the Swirly Bird Stamp and Die Bundle. I stamped them in both colors and die cut them using the coordinating dies and then scattered them over the front of the card. They all have a pearl center and sparkle with Wink of Stella 🙂

Stampin Up Blooms & Bliss Birthday Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • I pulled the fun sentiment for the inside of the card from the Happy Happenings Photopolymer stamp set and stamped it in Island Indigo. There is a “grunge-y” stamp included in Swirly Birds that I thought would be fun to add to the card in both Mint Macaron and Island Indigo. I did stamp off twice each time to get the muted colors.
  • The beautiful patterns of the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper were used to line the envelope and inspired the color palette for today’s project.

Thank you for stopping by!
