Dragonfly Dreams Friendship Card – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #19

Welcome to a brand new Tic Tac Toe challenge! This week’s board comes to us courtesy of Felicita and is sure to provide inspiration!

This week I decided to choose the middle row across; friendship, gold, layers. What will you choose?

Details:

  • This dreamy paper is from the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. I love when paper can be multi-functional. This DSP is actually holiday paper but this gorgeous plaid can be used all year round! I layered a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP over the card base and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add depth and give me a little extra space to attach a piece of Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
  • I ran a piece of Vellum Cardstock through the Big Shot and the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I then stamped the circle with a background splatter stamp from the Touches of Texture stamp set using Versamark Ink. I heat set it carefully with Gold Embossing Powder, using tweezers to hold the vellum for me so as to not burn fingers!
  • The dragonfly from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set was stamped in Versamark Ink and heat set with Gold Embossing Powder and then run through the Big Shot with the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.

  • A second dragonfly was die cut using a different die from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and Gold Foil Sheets. Can you see it peeking out from underneath? Just another layer of gold…it’s so amazingly pretty in person!
  • I glued the two dragonfly dies together with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen and then popped them up off the circle of vellum using the edges of a sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals. By using the edges I was able to snip some long thin lines of adhesive along the body and wings of the dragonfly and keep them hidden. I popped the vellum circle up off the DSP using stripes of Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.
  • I had a wrinkle in the dragonfly’s body from not gluing the layers together properly but a single Glitter Enamel Dot in the very palest shade of Crushed Curry covered that easily and adds more sparkle!

  • The frame for the sentiment and the sentiment can be found in the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. I stamped both in Versamark Ink and heat set with Gold Embossing Powder. I then quickly snipped the framed sentiment with Paper Snips and attached it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (a stampin’ girl’s best friend!)
  • I adhered a 2 1/4″ x 6″ strip of matching DSP to my envelope by running SNAIL adhesive along the outside edges of the envelope flap, gently pressing the DSP to adhere it, and snipping off the extra with my Paper Snips, using the edge of the envelope flap as my guide. An easy way to dress up an envelope!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, please pop over and see more inspiration from the rest of the Tic Tac Toe design team and I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!

Blessings!

Clean and Modern Country for Inspired by All the Little Things

I am thrilled to share some news with you that I’ve been keeping under my hat for a few weeks now. Nance Lempinen-Leedy, design team member for the challenge blog “Inspired by All the Little Things has invited me to be a guest designer for this week’s challenge!! I am SO honored and tickled to be considered and couldn’t say “yes” fast enough!

Doesn’t the name itself “Inspired by All the Little Things” just contour up lots of pleasant images in your head? It sure does for me and when I saw the inspiration photo, I just had to sigh in delight…

Isn’t the inspiration photo wonderful?? I focused first on the Mason jars, then the colors, then the flowers, and then finally saw the wood texture in the background. I took the photo quite literally at first but as I pondered it, my inspiration shifted from what I actually saw to the overall feeling the photo gave me, which was a fresh clean take on country. And not your grandma’s country either but rather, Joanna Gaines’ kinda country!! And this is where that inspiration led me…

Details:

  • I picked up the wood texture with my background paper from the Wood Textures DSP Stack. I layered it on the card and also covered my envelope flap in it. It looks a lot darker in the photo than it is in real life.
  • I carried with the flowers theme with a tripled layered daisy using the new Daisy Punch. It’s very easy to create – just punch three daisies and adhere them together with glue dots! The large daisy was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth.

  • I loved the vivid blue in the inspiration photo so I chose Pacific Point as my blue. It’s a very vivid hue of blue so I used it sparingly – stamping splatters on the background using the Timeless Textures stamp set and one single retired Pacific Point button as my “wow” factor.
  • Gold on my cards can be tough for me so I again kept it simple with looped Gold Metallic Thread wrapped behind the daisy and a prettily embossed sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. And just the tiniest bit of shine from the gold metallic thread wrapped through the button hole!

And there you have it, my clean and modern take on a country inspiration. I can see this as the foundation for my dream kitchen…lots of light, bright white cabinets with the wood floors, a big white country table set for breakfast with a big white milk pitcher filled with white daisies…yes, all that from a card, lol.

And I can’t wait to see how the inspiration photo inspires you!!

I hope you are inspired to check out this amazing challenge blog “Inspired by All the Little Things” and visit each of the very talented designers and then I hope to see you in the gallery as well! There is also a short bio on me if you care to take a peek!

Clean and Simple Dragonfly Dreams

Stampin-Up-Dragonfly-Dreams-Love-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

This weekend I wanted to show a friend how the MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) works. I just grabbed a stamp set and started stamping – NOT how I usually work. That saying “Hold on while I overthink it” fits me to a T!! Somewhere along the way I fell in love with what I had created and realized that it can be fun to just sit down and play!

Details:

  • This is literally the first time I have inked this set up! I stamped the outline of the dragonfly in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and demonstrated how, if the first stamp isn’t sharp enough, you can re-stamp it easily! Then I added the wings detail stamp in Sweet Sugarplum (randomly picked from my inks), demonstrating how easy it is to line layered stamps up and make sure you get it right! Wink of Stella adds a pretty sparkle to the wings and body of the dragonfly.
  • Next came the sentiment. The grid lines on the MISTI make it simple to get the sentiment stamped straight and without the dreaded “shadow” that can happen with a wood stamp or acrylic block.
  • A simple snippet of sparkly (retired) ribbon stapled to the card with the retired Stampin’ Up! stapler and a few layers of card stock and BOOM! done! Super pretty and super fast – I think it took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish!
  • The envelope is lined with retired DSP, the perfect shades for this card!

  • I kept the inside simple with no layers this time…just a pretty sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will check back in soon for more inspiration!

For A Wonderful Friend Birthday Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampin Up

I have noticed that my most favorite cards are created when I have the recipient in mind. And today’s card bears that theory out! When you pair a large box of brand new Stampin’ Up! goodies with a good friend’s birthday, good things happen!!

  • Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper Stacks cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″

  • Thick Whisper White card stock cut to 3″ x 4 1/4″

  • Coordinating products are what REALLY makes this card. And this spring Stampin’ Up! has given us some fabulous products to work with…
  • Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper. That Sweet Sugarplum gingham pattern is to die for! And it really plays well together with the bold pattern of the succulents. And Old Olive…I would NEVER have thought to pair it with Sweet Sugarplum, but oh my goodness! They are beautiful together!
  • And then the glimmer paper. I have no words for how sparkly and wonderful this paper is. And to be honest…I have a love/hate relationship with glimmer paper in that I love to HATE it. But no more. This butterfly has converted me.

  • One more photo of the glimmer paper up close…just in case you didn’t believe me. G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. And only available as a free item with a $50 minimum purchase. And only available until March 31st or until supplies run out.
  • I used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies to create this beauty. Hint: when using glimmer paper, die cut it from the back.
  • I used very thinly snipped Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop my butterfly up. I also popped everything off of the gingham paper to make it more dimensional.
  • Dragonfly Dreams is where you will find this sentiment. So sweet and the font is so hip! Again, love it in Old Olive!

  • I couldn’t resist adding more gingham to the inside of the card as well as more of the beautiful succulent pattern to the envelope liner. Love, love love this papers!

I decided to add my own personal note to the inside for a dear friend and fellow stamper, so I know she will appreciate every detail. It’s so nice when you know how much the recipient will appreciate your card, right??

Thank you to Rita with the Freshly Made Sketches design team for giving us such a fun sketch to work with this week!

As a funny side note, I forgot to link last week’s creation up with the challenge so they never got to see my card or my thank you to Cécile for picking my card as her princess the prior week. So again, thank you Cécile!

As always, comments motivate me so I would love to hear from you! Thank you so much for stopping by!
