#BeKind – CAS(E) this Sketch 207

Today’s project was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge:

The flowers I used are one of my favorite stamp sets by Stampin’ Up! called Garden in Bloom. It’s a three-step stamp but I chose to use just the outline stamps in Simon Says Stamp Black ink. I love the stark contrast with the vivid pink!

I used Rustic White card stock so please know that those flecks you see are not a stamping mistake! lol I did some masking with the flowers and the leaves to get a nice overlay. I’m so happy with the way everything turned out!

I’ve been redoing my craft room since my “incident” last October and tomorrow hubby is going to start hanging things on the walls! Progress!! And then the Super Bowl! I love football so my crafting will have to wait until the evening!

I’d love to hear how you spend Super Bowl Sunday?

How every you choose to spend it, I hope you have a great day!!

My Blooming’ Garden – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 12

**This is my second post today. Please scroll down to see Day 11 of the Card Challenge and please forgive me for posting twice as I am catching up on publishing my posts.**

Stampin Up Garden in Bloom Just Because Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Ummm, yum! I can’t STAND how darling this color combination is!! This card may look clean and simple but it actually took about two hours and lots and lots of do overs until I was happy with the outcome, but man oh man am I happy with it! Worth every piece of card stock!!

The Details:

  • Base is Thick Whisper White card stock, cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″and scored at 5 1/2″
  • The Peekaboo Peach Designer Series paper is from the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and is cut to 3 5/8″ x 4 5/8″
  • The Mint Macaroon Designer Series Paper is from the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper and is cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • The top layer is Thick Whisper White, cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • I felt that the Peekaboo Peach layer didn’t have quite enough impact, so I trimmed it to a slightly larger size than the other two layers

  • This darling flower is from another 3 layer stamp set called Garden in Bloom. I only used 2 layers though, the outline and the filler. I tried adding in the detail stamp but it just didn’t work for me today, so I left it out on both the flower and the leaves
  • This color combination of Peekaboo Peach and mint Macaron just blows me away…I LOVE it!!! I started with Pear Pizzazz but it wasn’t working for me either. Did I mention I stamped this a zillion times before I was happy?
  • The sentiment is from Blooms & Wishes. This is the stamp set I started out with but just couldn’t make the flowers work for me today…so I changed the flowers but kept the sentiment. LOVE the font!!

  • I tried adding Enamel Shapes. I tried adding Pearls. I tried adding Rhinestones. Nope. In the end I used only Wink of Stella. The card shimmers SO prettily! I wish I could capture it with my camera!

Super clean and simple. Super cheerful. I’m in love with the colors…what do yo think?

Happy Saturday my friends! Another week is in the books and it’s time for some inky fun!

I sure had a lot of fun with the sketch from the team over at Freshly Made Sketches:

FMS Final 231-001

I didn’t realize until this moment where the sketch had placed the sentiment. Oops 🙂

Today’s card uses the blooms from Stampin’ Up’s Garden in Bloom and the sentiment from Happy Birthday Everyone. I created a mask by stamping the bloom onto a Post-It, trimming around the outline and then laid the mask over the first bloom in the corner. That allowed me to stamp two more blooms without any overlap.

Aren’t the pattern papers lovely? The are actually left over pieces from a Paper Pumpkin kit from years ago. I’m pretty happy to get them out of my stash and onto a project! I thought three random sequins would round out the card but ended up adding extra detail with a stamp that had three tiny dots on it…they are the perfect accent!

Garden in Bloom – Sunday Stamps 118

Greetings!! Today is a new challenge from Sunday Stamps…a sketch!!

Garden in Bloom - Sunday Stamps 118

I admit, I had tons of trouble finding a substitute for the butterfly! I had just posted a card using a butterfly and didn’t want to use one again so soon. After much contemplation, I went with flowers (big surprise, right? lol):

I must be feeling pink lately but I’m not really a Valentine’s kind of girl so I made my pink card all purpose instead 🙂 It’s always good to have a general card on hand, right? You never know when you will need one!

Details:

  • I drew my colors from the fab designer series paper “English Garden” by Stampin’ Up!
  • Stampin’ Up’s Ovals Framelits form the curved layer. I used the scalloped oval with Melon Mambo and then used the next size smaller for the white sentiment layer. I adhered both ovals together, added them to the card and then used my guillotine trimmer to trim the excess away.
  • Garden in Bloom by Stampin’ Up! has lovely three step images to add depth and personality to the flowers! I used Melon Mambo for the flower outline and center, then Blushing Bride  stamped off once for the flower and Blushing Bride, full strength, stamped twice for the inside of the flower.
  • The leaves are a two step stamp. I used Mossy Meadow stamped off once for the interior of the leaf and Mossy Meadow at full strength for the outline.
  • I added gold twine (from the Christmas catalog) behind the flowers and a few gold sequins to set everything off
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals add depth behind the oval layer as well as behind all of the flowers.
  • I used my Brother Scan-n-Cut to cut both the flowers and leaves out 🙂

You Are My Sunshine – The Card Concept 38

Hello there and welcome to another challenge from The Card Concept!! The inspiration photo is amazing…I can’t wait to see what you do with it!!

You Are My Sunshine - Card Concept 38cI L-O-V-E daisies so this challenge brings a smile to my face! I interpreted the challenge literally and tried to think of ways to use a daisy in a clean and graphic card. When I think of graphic, I think of repeated images, so…

You Are My Sunshine - Card Concept 38bThat’s exactly what I did! I stamped Versamark Ink onto Fog card stock and then heat embossed the daisies with white embossing powder, one at a time. I used a mask to help me stamp without overlapping. I then stamped the flower centers with Versamark Ink as well and then heat embossed them with Crushed Curry embossing powder. A simple sentiment punched out with my new washi tape punch, a coordinating layer of Crushed Curry card stock complete my clean and graphic card!

You Are My Sunshine - Card Concept 38aThis new stamp set called Garden in Bloom by Stampin’ Up! is so much fun, I know I will get a lot of use from it!!

Well, that’s it for me, I can’t wait to see your creations!!

Please be inspired by the designs from the rest of The Card Concept design team, they are soooo talented!
