Fall is in the Air – Stamp, Ink, Paper #116 & The Paper Players 362

Saturday was a beautiful day here in Southern California with temperatures in the 70’s and a nice crisp feel in the air. I stopped by the local Home Goods store and picked up some fall decor and did a little decorating around the house which translated in to fall cards as well, lol.

The ‘At Home with You’ stamp set has a darling pot of sunflowers that has been calling to me so I pulled it out and colored it with my Shin-Han alcohol markers. I then die cut it with the coordinating die, popped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals on a Very Vanilla card base and stamped a sweet sentiment from the ‘One Big Meaning’ stamp set in Early Expresso. This darling pattern from the Painted Autumn DSP is a great compliment to my coloring, and the linen bow the finishing touch!

It’s seems like I’m not the only one feeling “Fallish” – Fall challenges are also in the air this week so I’m playing along with both the Stamp, Ink, Paper Clean and Simple Fall challenge as well as The Paper Players Clean and Simple Harvest Challenge (LOVE their inspiration photo!):

Thank you for stopping by! I’d love to know if you’ve been inspired by the changing seasons too 🙂

Supplies:

Cheerful Bouquet – Stamp, Ink, Paper #8

I saw this challenge over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and could not resist the temptation of designer’s choice!

SIP-Any-Challenge-8What to do, what to do?! So many options! And then I saw one particular rubber stamp sitting out on my table…if it had hands, it would have been waving it’s hand in the air and shouting “Me, Me, Pick Me!!”. I purchased it some months ago at the Scrapbook Expo, knowing I was planning to start coloring, but have been putting off acquiring the markers to do so 🙂

Cheerful Bouquet - Stamp, Ink, Paper #8 What do you think?? I’m very, very happy with how it turned out, keeping in mind my limited coloring skills. I haven’t even finished the online Copics class!! lol

Now, about Copics…they are awesome. But expensive. And I am ‘that’ girl, the collector. I can’t just have a few of anything, I want them all!! So I found these markers online (Close to My Heart also carries them) and purchased both sets. I am very satisfied with the colors I now have and can add to them with Copics as time and budget allow!

Cheerful Bouquet - Stamp, Ink, Paper #8This rubber stamp is designed by “Stamps by Judith” and is called Flower Grater. I fell in love with it and had to bring it home! This is my favorite type of bouquet!

Cheerful Bouquet - Stamp, Ink, Paper #8After I was done, I came across the perfect paper to accent it with!! Isn’t it fabulous?? I have used it before and am now down to my last piece of it so I thought long and hard about using that last piece for an envelop liner!! In the end I compromised and made the envelope liner only half as long as it should be!!

I had SO much fun coloring this image! And while I was coloring the grater, my husband walked in and saw it and was so impressed!! Made my day 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and for all your comments yesterday! It feels so good to be creating again!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Garden in Bloom – CAS(E) this Sketch 126 & SIP #1

SKP Watermarked Photos4-048Hello my friends!! I received a package of goodies from the Stampin’ Up! catalog this evening and HAD to dive in! It’s funny, I knew the box was on it’s way, so when I saw the sketch this week over at CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to create!

CTS_126This stamp set is perfect for this challenge!

This new stamp set called Garden in Bloom is a new set in the 2015-2016 annual catalog and I’m a sucker for flowers…what can I say 🙂 I love the sketchy, watercolor-y feel of these flowers. I inked them up in Mint Macaron which is a brand new color…love it!!!

Garden in Bloom - CAS(E) this Sketch & SIP #1cThe MISTI made the placement of my flowers a breeze, and I was pleased to note that these photopolymer stamps have a built in placement guide which is SOOO helpful!! Not all stamp companies do this, so it’s a definite plus in my book!

Garden in Bloom - CAS(E) this Sketch & SIP #1eI added a few silver sequins, also in the new catalog, and a bit of Wink of Stella to my flowers. Isn’t the sentiment adorable? It’s from another new set in the catalog called One Big Meaning.  And it’s a new favorite of mine!!

A few comments on some of the items I have used here today:

  • Stampin’ Up! has added a thicker Whisper White card stock to it’s product lineup and I can heartily endorse it. It’s a perfect weight of cardstock for card bases.
  • Their new DSP paper packs are now a 6 x 6 size, perfect for card making, and you get 4 of each pattern in the pack for a total of 48 pieces of paper!

A friend of mine, Justin, has started his own challenge so of course I want to play along and support him and he has made that as easy as pie with Challenge #1:

SIP-Any-Challenge-1-791x1024And since today, these are all my new favorites, I fit right in to this challenge! Please visit the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog and play along!

Thanks for your visit today. I appreciate each and every one of you and love to receive your comments on my work. Of course, If you ever have any questions about a product or a technique that I have used, I am only an email away!
