Thanks a Bunch – The Challenge #51

Hello! I hope your Monday morning finds you ready for a new week 🙂 Are you ready for a challenge? One of my cards was chosen as the winner for the The Challenge #48 and they have asked me to be their guest designer this week! I’m so thrilled to play along with this very talented design team!

The Challenge 51 111615Aren’t these colors cozy? I can just picture the fireplace going in the background and being wrapped up in a warm blanket with a book open…sigh…

Thanks a Bunch - The Challenge #51I tried to give my card a warm and cozy feel as well. I looked and looked for a patterned paper that gave me that feel and finally manged to find one in my 12×12 paper stash. I paired it up with stamped leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set by Stampin’ Up!. I really love the size and detail of the leaves, this set is a keeper!

Thanks a Bunch - The Challenge #51The flip side of the dots pattern paper was a very soft blue neutral pattern so I used it to stamp my leaves. I tried to use my ScanNCut to cut the image out, but either my machine doesn’t like this design or my technical skills were lacking today, either way, I couldn’t get the image to register so I broke down and fussy cut the leaves. I’m glad I had to do it because I think that perhaps I have finally gotten the hang of moving the paper and not the scissors…after five years! Ha!

I stamped a greeting and rounded the whole thing off with a few iridescent sequins.

Thank you for stopping by! Please visit The Challenge for more inspiration and I hope to see you in their gallery this week!

Time to Celebrate – Sunday Stamps 111

Hello there! Before I jump in to today’s post, I would like to apologize to all my blog update subscribers. I had a programming glitch with this past Thursday’s post and it was sent out multiple times. The company I use for all things blog related jumped on the problem and patched it right up. So if you are a blogger, or are thinking of becoming a blogger, I would recommend Integrant Services for all of your blog needs. They are very knowledgeable and helpful and even specialize in the paper crafting realm! And now back to today’s post…

It’s Sunday and time for another challenge from Sunday Stamps! This challenge is a beautiful neutral color combination from the very talented Holly Endress:

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I went with a masculine theme for my project:

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I saw a card on Pinterest that had a few different pieces of patterned paper and was inspired to challenge myself to use four different patterned papers but still leave a lot of white space for a clean, uncluttered look. This stamp set was fun to work with, using my MISTI to stamp all the individual pieces of the clock face and the hands. It’s five o’clock somewhere!

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I layered the clock face onto two layers of cardstock to give it a bit more presence on the card and this wonderful label sentiment finished things up perfectly!

I was amazed by all the different takes on the sketch this week by the Sunday Stamps design team. They did a fantastic job so please stop by and show them some love!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Sentimental Thank You – Paper Players 245

Welcome to another Sunday and a fun new sketch from The Paper Players! I would just like to share that your creations with last week’s color combination were wonderful to see, thank you so much for sharing your talent! This week, Jaydee has given us a fun clean and simple theme challenge:

pp245When I first saw the challenge, I thought “Oh, how fun!” and then spent forever trying to work the card out. I can over think things at times so I took a step back, a deep breath, and cookies; and I was able to re-focus and get on track.

SKP Watermarked Photos3-100The cookies helped a lot! lol This beautiful flourish is from MFT Stamps and is dreamy! So soft and pretty! It would be so simple to make up gift sets with this die!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-101I die cut the flourish twice, adhered the layers together and then adhered the nice thick flourish to my water color pattern paper. Isn’t it lovely? And no effort needed, the best part!! I thought this stark label greeting from Altenew, stamped in black, would contrast well with all the softness, and I absolutely love the effect! A few sequins and done! Quick and easy!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-102Here’s one last close up of the details…

I hope you have a minute to peek at the inspiring designs from the rest of the design team! I can’t wait to see your creations over on the challenge blog!
