Spooky Halloween – Freshly Made Sketches 209

Spooky Halloween - Freshly Made Sketches 209I picked up this adorable stamp set at the Scrapbook Expo today. It’s from a company called The Rubber Cafe. I have never heard of them before but I loved the images so much I had to run home and ink them up! I really didn’t have any Halloween stamps so the two sets I purchased should keep me for awhile 🙂

Spooky Halloween - Freshly Made Sketches 209I kept it simple but added a bit of pizzazz by embossing all the images. I thought it would be simple but it took me four tries to get it embossed! I was all thumbs today! I added an awesome black and white background paper (which is actually from a Christmas pad, believe it or not!) and the topped that off with stripes of Elegant Eggplant, Cucumber Crush and Tangerine Tango. A few dots always add that last bit!

I was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

Sprinkles of Birthday Cheer

Hello Friends! I know it’s Monday, I hope you had a fun weekend!! It was HOT in Southern California so I stayed inside and made cards. 34 to be exact!

Sprinkles of Birthday CheerMy husband asked me to make birthday cards for him…it was SO much fun!! I’ll share them a bit more closely over the next week. Today I wanted to focus on just one:

Sprinkles of Birthday CheerSo much fun to make!! Almost all Stampin’ Up product today. The Cherry on Top Designer Series paper is very cute and versatile and I finally inked up the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. I has a coordinating punch so I used that too! I admit to being a bit dismayed when I realized I had to fussy cut the ice cream cone base out, but it turned out to be easily done.

Sprinkles of Birthday CheerI added a cherry on top from the Cupcake Builder punch…it’s perfect, don’t you think? And I love the coordinating sentiment…

Sprinkles of Birthday CheerSo fun! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Scripted Thank You – Freshly Made Sketches #181

SKP Watermarked Photos3-055

Hello there, my stamping friends! Today I have a quick card to share with you as my crafty time was limited last night. I had limited time but I REALLY wanted to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week…

FMS Final 181-001

What do you think about the tilt-y layer? Do you like those or not?? Apparently there are many folks who would rather not work with a tilt-y angle, I personally do not mind it, it can add an interesting detail to a card.

This pattern paper is from the same pad I used in my last card and it has been calling to me. I just LOVE the vivid yellow combined with the delicate pattern! I paired white and black with it for my neutrals and decided to pull out the green in the pattern with a pop of green across my card front.

Isn’t the pretty edge detail lovely? It’s from a border die set I recently acquired from a small company called Pretty Pink Posh. If you’ve not heard of this company before, you might want to pop over and browse a bit. It’s a one-woman shop and she has lots of pretties to purchase and also has a blog, her creations are darling.

I added a button to my card even though it’s not in the sketch (I hope they don’t kick me out) because I knew I wanted the second part of the sentiment to go across the green strip, but I didn’t have anything long enough to cover the entire card front so I improvised! I adore this Thank You sentiment set from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

No stamping for me tonight…I’m off to my son’s Spring Concert tonight. He is a first-year high school band director and I’m so proud to see him conduct his band that I could just pop!!

Take care and please let me know what you think of my color combination today…it’s a bit bold for me!! Stepping out of that box again!

Filled With Joy – Make It Monday #196

Happy Saturday my friends!! The first week back after the holidays is always action packed, I’m so looking forward to some crafty time today!

I have two inspirations today…The first is Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday Challenge to fill up those corners! The second inspiration is also from Papertrey Ink. It’s their January 2015 Inspiration Archive’s Color Combination…isn’t this combination amazing?

When I pulled these colors of cardstock out, I truly gasped…they are SO pretty together!

I needed to use at least one Papertrey Ink product for these challenges so I went to the PTI section of my stamp storage and found a delightful stamp set that was an exclusive gift if you purchased a minimum amount order…so of course, I did! The stamp set is called Filled with Joy and has very elegant looking flowers and leaves in it, perfect for this color combination!

What do you think? I couldn’t just fill one corner, I had to fill them both! And can I say, my new MISTI sure got a workout on this card! Just lots and lots of images and color, and the sentiment…so sweet! Love the font! And love that there are lots of options to switch out the saying, this one just worked for me.

You will have to take my word for it that every leaf and flower on this card is covered liberally with Wink of Stella…it’s sooo sparkly pretty!!

And I did not stop at the front…

Yep, more stamps from this set! I also threw in this little dot stamp from Rustic Wreath. It’s a go-to stamp for me now, it’s so easy to add little dots of interest and color to just about anything!

I also decided to enter this card into the Anything-Goes-As Long-As-It’s-New challenge over at NBUS (never-before-used-schtuff) since everything is new and I can enter more than once 🙂
