Stampin Up Best Birds Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

This sweet little bird is rockin’ this week’s Pals Paper Arts color combination! Island Indigo, Sweet Sugarplum and Sahara Sand are a knockout combination for the Best Birds Stamp Set and Birds and Blooms Thinlits Dies! This sweet set can easily fit so many styles!

Stampin Up Birds & Blooms

Save 10% when you purchase Best Birds Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies as a bundle!

Helpful Hints:

  • The Sahara Sand card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • The white panel is 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I trimmed two pieces each of Island Indigo and Sweet Sugarplum to 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and used Snail to attach them to the Whisper White focal panel.

  • I stamped the branch, the bird and all the flowers on one sheet of Thick Whisper White card stock. The coordinating dies together with the Magnetic Platform make die cutting all the shapes SO easy!!
  • Stampin’ Up!’s 3/8″ Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon is just the most darling ribbon ever!!

  • See the little stem with the flower and the bud on the far right of the branch? Stampin’ Up! designed this stamp in such a way that it is quick and easy to ink up and stamp just the stem in one ink color, and then ink up and stamp just the flowers in another ink color. Just ink up using the corner of your ink pad and get perfect results! I love the planning that goes in to Stampin’ Up! products!
  • Perhaps I got carried away with the sweet little flowers, but they are so cute I just couldn’t resist!

  • Pearls Basic Jewels add a touch of sweetness to the flowers! And of course, would a flower be complete without Wink of Stella??

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Do you love this color combination as much as I do? It is courtesy of the very talented Katy McGloin and the Pals Paper Arts Design Team. Definitely pop on over there to see more color inspiration!

Stampin’ Up!’s Pretty Kitty – Pals Paper Arts 308

Stampin Up Pretty Kitty Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I have a confession. This stamp set, Pretty Kitty, was on my first order. I have been pulling it out to look at it and then putting it back again because it requires COLORING. Which gives me terrible anxiety 🙁

But I finally put on my big girl pants and colored. Isn’t this little guy a sweetie?

Helpful Stuff:

  • The Real Red card base combined with the Real Red banner and the Real Red flowers use the rule of thirds to keep everything in balance.
  • The Black and White are neutrals which, when used together, give the red an extra boost.
  • I used a blender pen to color the image. I find it leaves less streaking than the full strength marker as well giving you the ability to go back and add darker detail.

  • Stampin’ Write Markers colors used: Real Red, Cucumber Crush, Perfect Plum, Dapper Denim, Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake.

  • You can never have too much bling. I’m just saying. And…did I forget the sentiment? Nope!

This sweet little kitty truly does make me happy!

The inspiration for today’s card is Ann Schach of the Pals Paper Arts design team’s darling sketch:

I just flipped it over onto it’s side:)

I would love to hear what you think of today’s card, the Pretty Kitty stamp set, and any comments on coloring…do it terrify you too?

Hello to you and an exciting long holiday weekend here in the States! The very talented Brian King has created a fun color challenge this week for the Pals Paper Arts challenge so I thought I would play along! The color challenge can be patriotic, or not, depending on your whim and I appreciate that.

I went a bit wild experimenting with the Layering Squares Framelits Dies. My final decision is that they are perfectly sized to nest and offer SO many creative options!

Creative Tips:

  • Don’t be afraid to keep building up layers with the Layering Squares Framelits Dies…the more the merrier!
  • The new Festive Embossing Folder adds a fun element of texture and really, any embossing folder would work well here

  • I stamped this bold sentiment twice. Once in Night of Navy and then again in Real Red. I snipped just the banner out and then layered it on top of the Night of Navy image with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add a bit of depth.
  • The 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon is a dream to work with, so soft and SHINY 🙂

Here’s a quick peek at some of the products I used to make today’s project:

Sunshine Sayings – Pals Paper Arts 305

I can’t quite decide which new Stampin’ Up! products are my favorite, every time I pull something out to play with, it becomes my new favorite!

Sunshine Sayings - Pals Paper Arts 305

So…today’s favorite is the Sunshine Sayings stamp set which happens to have a coordinating framlits set called Sunshine Wishes. And of course, they can be bundled together to save 10% off the purchase price!

My jumping off point for this project was the Pals Paper Arts fun color combination this week:

PPA-305-June16

Isn’t this just a SWEET color combination?!? Thanks Windy!! And a huge THANK YOU to the sketch design team for choosing my card last week as one of their top picks!

Sunshine Sayings - Pals Paper Arts 305

This delightful piece of DSP is from the Serene Scenery 6×6 Paper Stack. I love this soft wash of Island Indigo! I had fun inlaying all of the dies into my top panel of Whisper White card stock. It was a bit tricky to keep track of all of the little pieces but I’m a puzzle fan, so I made a game of fitting all the pieces into place 🙂

Sunshine Sayings - Pals Paper Arts 305

I did end up die cutting another flower and layering it over top of the inlaid flower, I think it adds a nice bit of dimension. And of course, Wink of Stella has been liberally applied to anything that would stand still!

I hope you have enjoyed today’s simple project, thank you so much for stopping by!
