You are Loved – CAS(E) this Sketch #212

You Are Loved Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampin Up

Since the Grateful Bunch stamp set was out on my crafting table still, I decided to use it again with today’s card. It’s never seen ink before, I’m sorry to say, so I’m thrilled to be able to utilize more of the stamps in the set!

The Details:

  • Thick Whisper White card base cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Thick Whisper White card stock card stock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″

The sketch over at the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge blog is the inspiration for my design:

  • I masked off the upper portion of the card with Post-It notes and then repeatedly stamped the beautiful large daisy, covering the bottom portion of the card.
  • I then stamped the sentiment at an angle and off to the right to leave room for a pretty bow. The MISTI helped with the placement of all of my stamps.
  • I wrapped Basic Black Baker’s Twine twice around the card and finished it off with a double bow. Using the additional layer, popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, allows me plenty of depth to wrap the twine.

  • When I chose the paper for the envelope liner and saw the teeny Melon Mambo hearts, I knew I needed to add one to my card! I found the perfect size heart in the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from the Holiday Catalog. Unfortunately, it’s retired now but I realized after the photos were complete that one of the Enamel Shapes would work perfectly as well!
  • I wasn’t able to capture the glimmer of the Wink of Stella that I added to the detail lines of the daisies as well as the little heart. They are SO sparkly!

There you have it! Super clean and simple today! See you next time!!

Penned & Painted Meets Cottage Greetings – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 5

Penned & Painted Meets Cottage Greetings Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I decided to take a break from Christmas cards and create something soft and pretty. The three step stamp set Penned and Painted is perfect for that feel!

The Details:

  • Thick Whisper White card base cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • This bold black and white pattern from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper Pack is a wonderful compliment to the soft pretty flowers
  • I used a thin slice of Basic Black card stock to add separation between the flower panel and the designer series paper

  • These flowers are created with three different stamps. The first is the outline stamp which I stamped with Watermelon Wonder. The second layer is the flower filler stamp which I stamped with Flirty Flamingo, and stamped the ink off once on scrap paper before stamping on my project. This leaves a softer color. The third layer is the flower detail stamp. I stamped this layer in Flirty Flamingo as well, only I did not stamp off and so got the full color effect. The leaves follow the same concept, only this time I used only Pear Pizzazz, stamping both the outline and the detail stamps at full strength and the flower filler stamp stamped off once.
  • Isn’t the font on the greeting darling? It’s from the Cottage Greetings stamp set and will be a staple in my stamp stash for years. I love the flirty script!

  • Sequins hide a multitude of sins, today’s being that I smudged ink across the top of my panel while stamping!

I’m still hanging in there with this card challenge! Day 5, only 25 more to go! I had a reader ask about the challenge and realized that I hadn’t provided the details so…a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator only Facebook group I belong to has challenged its members to create and post daily. The prize at the end is a free stamp set, which is enticing in itself, but I really just want to make my stamping a priority and do a little every day, it’s great stress relief after a busy work day!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I’d love to hear from you as to what you have been stamping lately!

Goodbye and Good Luck – Freshly Made Sketches #244

Stampin Up Bunches of Banners Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Parting is such sweet sorrow. But saying good bye with this simple yet elegant card will hopefully let the recipient know how very special they are!

This is the second time I have used the Banners for You Photopolymer Bundle, it is SO versatile…so many occasions can be covered with the sentiments included!

Helpful Stuff:

  • The Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper was the launching point for this card…the combination of the graphic black and white with Melon Mambo is stunning!
  • Did you note that I used three different patterns from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper? I must admit that adding pattern to the back flap of the envelope is usually done just because I like the challenge of mixing LOTS of patterns:)
  • I used the Layering Scallops Dies again, this time only one scallop with two circles…but there are lots of options with these dies!

  • Honestly, the banner die speaks for itself. The photopolymer stamps make creating custom banners a snap, and they look like a million bucks.
  • I could have stopped with just the banner but have been dying to try the new-to-me Botanical Builders Framelits Dies. I admit that these did not catch my eye when they arrived in the Spring catalog (I think I was not a fan of the colors in the paper pack), but I have seen these framelits used on their own and decided they were quite beautiful and needed to come live with me. I think they are the PERFECT accent to use here. And yes, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers, I couldn’t resist!

  • Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card! I found the perfect sentiments to use in the Wild About Flowers Stamp Set:

Stampin’ Up!’s Oh-So-Elegant Touches of Texture

I’m in LOVE with this simple bouquet of flowers!! They were created quickly and easily using Black Embossing Powder and the Touches of Texture Stamp Set.

The images in this set are so soft and romantic – I can envison SO many possibilities!

Stampin' Up!'s Oh-So-Elegant Touches of Texture

Tips & Tricks:

  • Love the stamps but don’t love to color? Versamark Ink, Black Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool to the rescue for quick, clean and sharp images!
  • Neutral backgrounds allow the colors and images shine! The graphic pattern in the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series paper contrasts well with the soft image.
  • Coordinating products make designing easy! This 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Pool Party matches the card stock and ink perfectly and provides a great “WOW” factor!

Stampin' Up!'s Oh-So-Elegant Touches of Texture

  • In the “olden” days, the only way to achieve the soft background was to flick ink from your marker onto the card stock. It was a very “iffy” process, you never knew quite how it would come out! Now, one background stamp gives the same effect with perfect control! It adds visual weight to the flower image while stamping off once provides a very subtle “splash” of color.
  • Stampin’ Write Markers add beautiful detail within the embossed stamp outline. Wink of Stella provides a pretty sparkle as well, though I did not manage to capture it on film very well this time…it is beautiful in person!
  • Sequins are my go to bling factor. They add nice texture and adhere easily with Glue Dots.
  • I did not add a sentiment to my project today. I think this design would make a great gift set of all-occasion cards. The colors can be changed out so easily!!
