I just love the clean look of this stamp set, Vertical Greetings, by Stampin’ Up! It’s so clean and fresh! I brought it out to use as I thought it would work perfectly with the sketch this week over at Freshly Made Sketches:
Helpful Stuff:
- Masking! It is the perfect thing to do when working with a solid rubber image such as this. I simply used a Post-It note to mask off all the areas that I did not want to ink up. Of course, the MISTI is the perfect tool for stamping this image as well! Love my MISTI!
- I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit with these colors (okay, a LOT out of my comfort zone). I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I inked up either Garden Green or Elegant Eggplant but wow, I sure love how they turned out! They really pop against the bright white!
- Choose the unexpected. The Real Red sentiment is quite unexpected amongst the rest of the color palette and that’s what makes the card (in my humble opinion). The color makes the message jump right of the paper. And isn’t the enamel heart too precious?? xoxo
- This card was created with my husband in mind, he has really gone the extra mile lately and I want him to know I appreciate him! He may not however be thrilled with the bow or the Wink of Stella I added to the greenery, I just couldn’t stop myself….
Lovely, elegant card!
I love this sweet topiary! Beautifully done!
Love it! Went straight to my Pinterest Board for future CASEing. 🙂
Love your card! I’m in love with this stamp set too. I think it’s my favorite from Stampin’ Up’s new 2016 catalog. I’ve used it several times on cards since receiving it.
A perfect stamp set for this sketch! And thanks for reminding me about Elegant Eggplant — I need to dust that ink pad off. You’ve just made me want to use this color combo. Beautiful card, Shannon!
Great interpretation of the sketch! That topiary stamp is so cool. Love it!
You did great job with the sketch ! Love this topiary stamp and the vertical sentiment .
Hullo Shannon,
I agree, the enamel heart is a special little touch. I like the sizes you made your panels too!
Thank you Barb! That little heart makes me smile!!
That tall image is just right for this sketch!! I so love the sentiment with the little heart.
Sometimes digging out the old and forgotten ink pads is just the thing to do! The colors may be old but they have new life with your modern and fresh design! I love the clean lines!
What a sweet card! I love that little topiary – wink of stella and all!!! I’m sure your husband will love it even with the bow!!!
Love, love, love this card! How pretty is that topiary?!
Yep, should have just gone ahead and gotten this set. Love how you used it for this sketch. Wonderful!
