Season of Joy – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 9

Stampin Up Christmas Pine Christmas Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I found a fun little sketch that I thought would showcase these patterns perfectly so I continued with the Christmas theme for today’s post. These papers are all from the Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper Pack. Did you know that if you purchase three packs of Designer Series Paper in the same order this month, you’ll get one FREE DSP pack of your choice? How awesome is that?

The Details:

  • I layered white on white to add a bit of depth to my project. The top white layer is cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • For the layers of pattern paper, I cut the bottom strip to 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. The rest of the layers are 3/8″ x 3 1/2″; 3/8″ x 3 1/4″; 3/8″ x 3″ and 3/8 x 2 3/4″
  • Did you see the darling pattern paper with bows on it at the top? I trimmed the height of it down just a bit so I could have just one row of bows. Darling!

  • The sentiment used is from the Christmas Pines Photopolymer Stamp set. I chose it specifically because it’s about 3/8″ high and about 2 1/2″ wide…perfect for continuing the concept of the graduated layers!
  • After stamping the greeting, I decided I wanted to continue the graduated layers. I found a sweet image of Holly in the Christmas Pines stamp set so I stamped one spring at the top of the design and one at the opposite side at the bottom, they are such a sweet detail!

  • There are several choices of pine tree stamps that coordinate with the Perfect Pine Framelits Dies, I chose this stamp from the Foxy Friends photopolymer Stamp Set. It really pops as stamped here in Emerald Envy. It is such a fresh color! Red Metallic Thread has been wrapped around the back of the Pine Tree as a fun detail
  • The pretty pine tree truly sparkles with Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I added a few more scattered through the design to continue the graduated design.
  • Notice the complimentary piece of Designer Series Paper lining the envelope?  It really pulls all of the colors together!

I hope you have enjoyed this fresh color palette…again, Stampin’ Up! really makes design EASY!!

Here is the sketch I found on Pinterest that inspired today’s card:

Oh, What Fun! – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 8

Stampin Up Oh What Fun Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Have you ever wonder what the term clean and simple means? Today’s card is just that, in its’ truest form. White space can be intimidating but I say “Embrace it!”

The Details:

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White card stock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • I prefer to not have ribbon or twine be visible once the card is opened so I added another layer of Thick Whisper White card stock, cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I can still have the clean look while also being able to tuck the ends of the twine away.

  • This oh so fun sentiment from the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer stamp set, is cheery and bright and stands very well all on it’s own. The sentiment was die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, with a scallop added for depth and interest. Still in Whisper White in keeping with the Clean and Simple concept.

  • Can you see the sparkle in this baker’s twine? Um, yum!! I want to use this darling twine from the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine Combo Pack on everything!
  • I added a teeny tiny heart punched from Red Glimmer Paper with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I love how the its’ sparkle balances out the sparkle in the baker’s twine
  • I couldn’t resist incorporating a bit of color with the envelope liner. This pattern is from one of last year’s collections and works perfectly with my design!!

So what do you think of the clean and simple style? Or do you prefer a bit “more” on your card? I love the look, but I also love pattern paper so I tend to just go with how I feel that day 🙂

Thank you for stopping by!

Warmth & Cheer CAS Christmas Card – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 4

Stampin Up Warmth and Cheer Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup.jpg

Quick and easy, that’s what today’s card is, and definitely full of Christmas cheer!

The Details:

  • Did you see the stamping I added to the envelope? I’m in love! The sentiment and Christmas bulbs are both from the Tin of Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set, I love adding life to a stamp set!
  • The Crumb Cake card base is cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • A simple layer of Whisper White yardstick, cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″, frames out this sweet pattern from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack, trimmed to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

  • The sweet font really makes this sentiment from the Tin of Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set shine in Cherry Cobbler, as well as adding extra life to the stamp set once your Tin of Tags Project Kit is complete
  • The Layering Circles Framelits Dies make quick work of trimming the sentiment out and providing additional layers to give it that “wow” factor…this die set is a GREAT investment
  • Notice the envelope liner? Another great pattern from the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack. The Crumb Cake and Basic Black pick up the colors in the card and compliment it beautifully – I love that Stampin’ Up! makes design so easy for us!!

  • I think I purchased all the trims in the Holiday Catalog, there were so many great choices! This sparkly gold baker’s twine is part of the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack found on page 16
  • Never enough sparkle! It’s been awhile since I’ve used Rhinestone Basic Jewels (which are a great staple to add to your stash). Here they add emphasis to the sparkles in the sentiment and are the perfect finishing touch

  • I’ve really been on a mission to add simple design to the inside of my cards this holiday season. This sentiment from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set combined with adorable Christmas lights in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green are sure to get an “Ahhhh” from the recipient (at least I hope so!)

So there you have it. Easy to assemble and super easy to mass produce. I love mass producing! It’s such a calming process to me:)

Banners for Christmas – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 3

Stampin Up Banners for Christmas Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Hello my stamping friends!!

If you have not picked up on it yet…I love the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies in this year’s Stampin’ Up’s annual catalog. They are a quick and easy way to add tons of pop to your card and they really need very little embellishment. Okay, so on this card I got a bit carried away with the embellishments 🙂 I LOVE the challenge of combining pattern paper!!

The Details:

  • Basic Black card stock card base, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper…don’t recognize it? It’s in the annual catalog! I passed right over it at first but $ for $, this paper pack is a great deal…24 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper for $13!!! The difference is that it is a thinner, more lightweight paper, but it’s perfect for layering, making treat bags, and classes…imagine how many cards can be made with 24 12″ x 12″ pieces of paper!!

Stampin Up Banners for Christmas Card Ideas 2 - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • For this project I cut one pattern to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then centered and layered another pattern, cut to 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
  •  The mistletoe image is from the Banners for Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped on Very Vanilla card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I love photopolymer stamps because they are so easy to stamp with the MISTI!!
  • After stamping my image, I used the largest Banners Framelits Die to cut the image out
  • The Blender Pen is my newest BFF. It allows me to use the Stampin’ Markers to add color without those awful coloring lines. And as a bonus, color can be applied in stages to add detail. Here I used Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler
  • The banner image is also from the Banners for Christmas Stamp Set, die cut with the coordinating banner in the Bunches of Banners Framelits Dies Set. You NEED it! 😉

Stampin Up Banners for Christmas Card Ideas 3 - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • I coated all of the sprigs and berries liberally with Wink of Stella, but that wasn’t quite enough so I went back in with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and added drops of glue to the berries to add shine and give depth
  • The card needed something “more”, so I added a bit of Cherry Cobbler Metallic Thread behind the banner. Working with this darn thread is tricky. The only way I have found to cope with it is to add Snail to the back of the banner (all over) and then wind the thread around your fingers. I start with two or three layers of thread wrapped around four fingers, then several more wrapped around three fingers. Then I grab all of it in one spot and attach it to the back of the banner. Then it can be moved and manipulated a bit as needed until you are satisfied. Then I added Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered the whole thing to my card.  I hope that makes sense.

Stampin Up Banners for Christmas Card Ideas 4 - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • A sentiment from the Wonderful Year CM Stamp Set graces the inside of the card, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added a detail stamp from the Banners for Christmas Stamp Set to the top and bottom of the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. The two just seem to belong together. I also trimmed out the sentiment panel with a layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock to tie everything together
  • As always, another pattern from the same paper pack was die cut with the retired Envelope Liners Framelit Dies and added to the envelope

While black is not my first choice when working on Christmas cards, I really think it works here. It seems vintage-y to me. What do you think?

And what do you think of the choice of pattern papers? Too much?

Thank you for stopping by!!

Modern Christmas – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 2

Stampin Up Modern Christmas Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Hello my stamping friends!

I’m here today with my take on a recent technique demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire and a color palette inspired by Pinterest.

The Details:

  • Thick Whisper White card base cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
  • Additional layer of Thick Whisper White card stock, cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and embossed with the Sparkle Embossing Folder

Stampin Up Modern Christmas Card Ideas 2- Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • To create the striped panel, I started with a base of Thick Whisper White cut to 5 1/2″ x 2″. I adhered a piece of Sizzix Adhesive Sheet cut to the same measurement on top of the Whisper White panel and peeled back the top sheet of backing. I layered strips of multi colored card stock on top, all pieces trimmed to 1/4″ wide. Once all the thin strips were attached to the base, I trimmed the excess off using my guillotine trimmer (retired by Stampin’ Up!, but never by me!)
  • I played around with different color combinations to create my modern palette. In the end I went with Real Red, Gumball Green (retired), Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate.
  • I ran the “merry” sentiment through the Big Shot and then replaced the colored section with the sentiment in Thick Whisper White.
  • The stamp set Banners for Christmas provided the additional sentiment, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

  • I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies for the sprigs of mistletoe and darling bow. All are covered liberally in Wink of Stella and a simple Bermuda Bay Enamel Dot finishes things off
  • A pretty sentiment from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set dresses the card interior, prettily stamped in coordinating colors
  • I used a pattern in Bermuda Bay from the retired Have a Cuppa DSP stack and the retired Envelope Liner Die to line my envelope
