Time to Celebrate – Sunday Stamps 111

Hello there! Before I jump in to today’s post, I would like to apologize to all my blog update subscribers. I had a programming glitch with this past Thursday’s post and it was sent out multiple times. The company I use for all things blog related jumped on the problem and patched it right up. So if you are a blogger, or are thinking of becoming a blogger, I would recommend Integrant Services for all of your blog needs. They are very knowledgeable and helpful and even specialize in the paper crafting realm! And now back to today’s post…

It’s Sunday and time for another challenge from Sunday Stamps! This challenge is a beautiful neutral color combination from the very talented Holly Endress:

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I went with a masculine theme for my project:

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I saw a card on Pinterest that had a few different pieces of patterned paper and was inspired to challenge myself to use four different patterned papers but still leave a lot of white space for a clean, uncluttered look. This stamp set was fun to work with, using my MISTI to stamp all the individual pieces of the clock face and the hands. It’s five o’clock somewhere!

Time to Celebrate - Sunday Stamps 111I layered the clock face onto two layers of cardstock to give it a bit more presence on the card and this wonderful label sentiment finished things up perfectly!

I was amazed by all the different takes on the sketch this week by the Sunday Stamps design team. They did a fantastic job so please stop by and show them some love!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Happy Birthday, Josh

Happy Birthday, JoshHello Peeps! Today I am sharing the card I actually gave to my son for his birthday this year. The card in my last post was in honor of his birthday, but I couldn’t post the actual card because he hadn’t received it yet!

Simple, masculine, but still LOTS of pattern 🙂

Tip: I inked the edges of the papers to give it some subtle grunge and bent the tabs punched with the spiral border punch for some texture.

Happy Birthday, JoshSuper love him and super proud of him 🙂

A Dino-mite Birthday – The Paper Players 249

06:14pp249Hello there my stamping friends!! It’s time for another Sunday challenge from The Paper Players! This week Sandy has given us a fun color combination!!

I fussed a bit with this combination. First I tried flowers. Nope. Then I tried a nautical theme. Nope. Both good options if you want to use them yourselves, but they just weren’t working for me. Then I inadvertently put Real Red next to Island Indigo and thought “little boy birthday colors!!!” And whamo! my whole card popped into my head.

A "Dino"mite Birthday - The Paper Players 249aDo you like it???? I L-O-V-E it!!! More than anything in a long time…these colors are just perfect for this sweet little dinosaur!! He looks like he could be up to a bit of mischief!! Do you see the paper I used for the envelope liner? I am OUT of coordinating DSP stack papers in Real Red and Island Indigo and my new papers haven’t arrived, so I went digging through my stash and would you believe I found this perfect paper in a Christmas themed pack!! Who knew!!

A "Dino"mite Birthday - The Paper Players 249bI stamped with red along the side and then cut a layer to fit over top. I used my dual-stitched oval dies to add the opening and then stamped, die-cut, and popped the dinosaur up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I embossed the ‘dino-mite’ sentiment with white embossing powder. There are a few strays, sorry about that, my Embossing Buddy is nowhere to be found!! Personally, I think it’s hiding from me because I usually have a few negative comments about it every time I use it (I HATE the feel of the powder) but I have instituted a full on search…it can’t hide for long!! lol

The layout was inspired by the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches…they always have such fun designs! Now let’s see if I can remember to link up! (I forgot last week, so sad)

FMS190And a close up of this little guy…so adorable!! And the sprinkles add just the perfect touch of Pool Party!

A "Dino"mite Birthday - The Paper Players 249cI hope you’ve enjoyed my project today, feel free to leave some love or tips on where my Embossing Buddy may have hidden, and make sure to see the awesome inspiration from the rest of the design team!!

One for the Boys – The Paper Players 248

It’s Sunday and that means another fun challenge from The Paper Players! My stint as a guest designer is winding down, only three more after this (sniff), so I’m going to make them count!! This week’s challenge is a fun one, as well as very timely with Father’s Day just around the corner:

06:07pp248I found the BEST pack of 6×6 paper while at the Scrapbook Expo and have been itching to use it…it’s perfect for this challenge!! I may have gone overboard on all the patterns, but I couldn’t pick just one or two…

One for the Boys-The Paper Players 248Aren’t they AWESOME!!!??? And I found a stamp set I purchased YEARS ago that had never seen ink (unfortunately), called Watch Set #3 by Rubbernecker Stamps that coordinates perfectly with the background paper!! I stamped and fussy cut one of the watches out and then added Crystal Effects to mimic the glass in the watch face.

SKP Watermarked Photos4-041I die cut my sentiment out of black card stock three times and adhered the layers together to give it depth, but it still needed more to pop from all of that busy paper so I added Crystal Effects to it too.

Isn’t it a fun die cut? I love all the coordinating sayings to pair with it. It’s Wet Paint by Papertrey Ink. I purchased it a long time ago, but didn’t realize that it had dies, and then the die set was sold out for forever, but I finally got it!! Yay!

I’m not much on patience so after applying all the Crystal Effects I forced myself to LEAVE the house and run an errand, just to make certain I left it alone long enough to set up! lol

SKP Watermarked Photos4-042I need to give thanks to the design team over at the Fusion Card Challenge for the awesome sketch inspiration:

And a quick shot of the inside of the card:

Plane Awesome – FMS183

SKP Watermarked Photos3-073

Hello Friends! Today’s card is very clean and simple, inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches design team:

FMS183

This card was completely inspired by the pattern paper, it’s from a set called Durable by Authentique and has some fabulous masculine colors and patterns. I felt that the stamp set would compliment it quite nicely, and I have the perfect person in mind to send it to!!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-075My card is pretty straightforward but I will say that the MISTI made stamping a breeze!!

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!
