Pretty Poppies Healing Wishes – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #15

Good Morning! It’s Thursday and that means a new challenge from the Tic Tac Toe design team! This week’s board was designed by Rosanne Mulhern, one of my favorite clean and simple designers!

There are so many fun options to choose from that I couldn’t make a decision, so…I tried to use them all! I managed all but two – baby and embossing:

Measurements:

  • I don’t have any measurements today other than the standard card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. The other layers were created using a die.

Details:

  • I loved the idea of monochromatic and yellow is one of my favorite colors I dug around in my stash until I found this bright and cheery 12″ x 12″ pattern from Echo Park. I love that the scale of the design works for both scrapbooking and card making.
  • The Mama Elephant Femme Frames die set is a staple in my stash. It creates the lovely scalloped edge on the bottom layer and a pretty stitched edge on the top layer…and best of all…no measuring! It’s done for you!

  • This stamp set, Pretty Poppies, was on the clearance rack over at MFT Stamps so I scooped it up for a steal! My Lemon Tart ink pad from PTI was a close match to the yellow in the paper and it has a matching ribbon! I had to stamp the poppies about 5 times to get the depth of color I wanted and then I applied Wink of Stella liberally. The stems and sentiment were stamped in Smokey Shadow ink. It’s a dark grey, but not quite black, for a softer feel.
  • This sweet mixed font sentiment is from the Inside & Out: Healing Touch stamp set by PTI. I set it off wish Lemon Tart satin ribbon and Lemon Meringue sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

  • Love the inside sentiment as well and isn’t the border too cute?? It’s a border stamp by Rubbernecker Stamps…a craft show discovery!

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my project for the Tic Tac Toe design team this week and please stop by to see what the rest of the design team has for you! I hope you are inspired to play along!

Wishing You a Day of Love and Happy Memories

Hope-Wedding-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo

Good morning and welcome to another Tic Tac Toe Challenge! This is my week off but my niece requested a wedding card so I thought “why not?!” Happy to have an excuse to make a card, lol!

This is the challenge board this week. I chose the bottom left to top right diagonal, gold, embellishment and celebrate:

Now, if you read my last post, I used a layout that I thought could be very versatile simply by changing the paper up…I think this card proves that point!! You may notice I have used some products that are not Stampin’ Up!, but I’m sure you can easily find something in your stash to recreate the general design!

Measurements:

  • Card Base 4 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ Stamper’s Select White by Papertrey Ink
  • Next layer 4″ x 5 1/4″ Sweet Blush by Papertrey Ink
  • Next layer 3 3/8″ x 5 1/8″ Soft Stone by Papertrey Ink
  • Top layer 3 3/4″ x 5″
    • Left 1 1/2″ x 5″
    • Top Right 2 1/4″ x 3″
    • Bottom Right 2 1/4″ x 2″
  • Sentiment Base 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • Sentiment Middle 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
  • Sentiment Top 3″ x 3″

Details:

  • I’m going to share a secret…the words “pink” and “gold” together in relation to a card evoke a primal fear response in me. I know, but they do.  But when I saw this pattern paper with the grey undertone to compliment the pink and the gold, I thought “I can do THAT”. So I bought it! I chose the grey paper with the shiny gold letters as the main pattern with one floral and one simple repeat pattern to compliment it.

  • On my previous card I stamped the sentiment repeatedly on the popped up panel but for this card and this sweet sentiment, I visualized it on a banner, in grey to compliment the pattern paper, and embossed in gold to really bring that element out. So…I pulled out a sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps and set to embossing a banner! Next, I pulled out a stamp set I JUST added to my stash last month from Concord and 9th called “Hope”. It has these lovely blooms in the set which I stamped in Sweet Blush and Pale Peony with Prairie Grass and Olive Twist leaves, colors by Papertrey Ink. Look at the floral pattern paper, don’t you think the inks match perfectly? Squeee…..
  • The flower centers were stamped in Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with Stampin’ Up! gold embossing powder.

  • I added a length of pink fiber from my Making Memories stash along the vertical seam line and the looped Stampin’ Up!’s Gold Metallic Thread around the back of the raised panel to add more of the gold element. I also added two of Stampin’ Up’s Gold Faceted Gems to the bottom right and top left of the corner to provide balance (and more bling!)

Hope-Weddings-Cards-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo

  • I used more of the pretty floral pattern on the inside of the card and then stamped the bloom again in Sweet Blush with Pale Peony Accents and then stamped this lovely sentiment from Stampin’ Up’s Beautiful Bouquet in Smokey Shadow ink. I’m so pleased with how this turned out!

I hope you will take a minute to view the inspiration from the Tic Tac Toe design team for this week’s challenge and perhaps even play along!!

Blessings to you!

Urban Underground Birthday Wishes

Urban-Underground-Birthday-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

We finally celebrated my son’s 29th birthday so I can share his birthday card with you all. 29. Not a child anymore by any means so I wanted his card to reflect who I think he is right now…and I thought this Urban Underground Designer Series Paper, though retired, perfect for him!

Measurements:

  • Card Base 4 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Middle layer 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Top layer 3 3/4″ x 5″
    • Left 1 1/2″ x 5″
    • Top Right 2 1/4″ x 3″
    • Bottom Right 2 1/4″ x 2″
  • Sentiment Base 3 1/2″ x 3 3/8″
  • Sentiment Middle 3 1/4″ x 3 1/8″
  • Sentiment Top 3″ x 2 5/8″

Details:

  • I managed to use 6 of the patterns in this DSP pack. I love the rugged feel of them!
  • I was looking for a basic block font for my sentiment and found what I was looking for in a Papertrey Ink set called Birthday Basics. I used my MISTI to line up the sentiment and stamp repeatedly in Delightful Dijon, Basic Grey and Memento Tuxedo Black

Urban-Underground-Birthday-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • I also pulled out some VERY old fibers from Making Memories (yes, THAT far back!) and layered them along them vertical seam for some texture without adding foo-foo. My son HATES foo-foo!
  • It was at this point that I realized I don’t have the Metallic Enamel Shapes from Stampin’ Up! so I pulled out these epoxy dots from Queen and Co.
  • Did you notice the sponging I did around the sentiment panel? I used Basic Grey to add that bit of texture.

Urban-Underground-Birthday-Cards-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • Can you see the flecks in the ivory card stock? I used Rustic Cream card stock from Papertrey Ink specifically to get that textured feel for this masculine card.

I’m pretty sure this layout is an old Operation Write Home layout designed to use up those pesky scraps. What I really like about this layout is that it can be easily updated for the person you have in mind (or occasion), simply by changing the pattern paper out…I think I just may do that!!

Anyway, I know we all struggle with masculine layouts so I hope you can add this to your arsenal!

Blessings!

Remarkable You in Blushing Bride – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #13

It’s time for another fun challenge board from the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I love, love, love to see your creations every week and am looking forward to seeing how you interpret this week’s board! It’s my turn to design the challenge board so I hope you are inspired by it and play along! I chose to use the middle row across: Circle, Flower, and Lace:

Remarkable-You-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

Details:

  • Pink was my starting point so I chose a sweet pattern from the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s perfectly pretty with a clean design.
  • I tend to lean towards one focal image but as I couldn’t decide which image from the Remarkable You stamp set I wanted to use…(they are all so pretty!),  I decided to go bold and layer two of the images!
  • The leaf image was stamped in Always Artichoke on a Very Vanilla card base.
  • The bloom was stamped in Blushing Bride onto Very Vanilla card stock and then fussy cut and layered on top of the leaf image with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This image was very easy to fussy cut!

Remarkable-You-Love-and-Friendship-Cards-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • This Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim is delightful to work with…so pliable and soft! I wrapped it around the card stock and tied it off. I covered the knot with a sweet sentiment from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, stamped in Always Artichoke and die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I added a thin layer of Always Artichoke card stock between the Very Vanilla layer and the DSP but it felt a little bare so I pulled out the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, which is new in this year’s catalog. I love the pretty design of  the punch but decided this card just needed a little of the design peeking out. This punch is so versatile as the look of it completely changes depending on how much you choose to show – and the other side of the design is a small pretty scallop!
  • Instead of sequins, which would have given me the top row as well (pink, pattern paper and sequin), I chose to use Pearl Basic Jewels. They always add such an elegant feel to any project!

So there you have it! A sweet all occasion card that is easy to create! Before you go, please take a few minutes to pop over and see the other Tic Tac Toe Challenge design team members projects…they are super inspirational!

I Have Enough Stamp Sets…Oh Look, More Stamps!!

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

How seriously fun is Stella Stamper?? I purchased this stamp set from someone who was selling all of her stamps and thought “This is a CLASSIC!” Had to have it and today’s challenge from The Paper Players to color was the incentive to pull this girl out and color her up!! CAS(E) this Sketch has a great layout and here we are, it all just came together so easily!!

Details:

  • 1999. This stamp set is 18 years old and inked up perfectly! Now that is Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y.
  • There isn’t anything hard about this card, I just stamped Stella with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and pulled out my Stampin’ Write Markers!
  • I must have 25 markers strewn all over my work space, so I’m not going to list all the colors. Some are current and some are retired.

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • I do remember that Stella’s dress is Powder Pink (I seriously love this pink) and her smock is So Saffron. These are regular markers, not alcohol markers, so some lines do show when coloring, especially when coloring large areas like her smock so I just added squiggles in after the fact. Now it just looks like it’s been well loved!
  • I love the cord from her heat tool dangling out of her bag…she’s so excited to stamp she just threw everything in higgily piggily!
  • For those who are new to Stampin’ Up!, that’s a Stampin’ Wheel in her hand. We used to be able to purchase different stamp designs wrapped around a wheel so we could use them to stamp borders 🙂

Stella-Stamper-Love-and-Friendship-Cards-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • She who dies with the most stamps wins…in Stella’s case it looks like she who dies with the most INKS wins!
  • I colored the ink pads in all different colors, I love how there are smudges of ink everywhere, we must be honest here, stamping IS messy!!
  • I backed my colored image with Basic Black and Fresh Fig card stock and added an itty bitty bow to the sentiment in Linen Thread.
  • The envelope flap is covered in Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Today’s card is a reminder to let your hair down and have fun with your hobby! Stella is and I am too! Hope you make something fun today!!

Thank you to both The Paper Players and CAS(E) this Sketch design teams for always providing such great inspiration!

Blessings to you!
