Country Chic Wedding – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #4

Happy Tic Tac Toe Thursday to you!! It’s time for a brand new Tic Tac Toe Challenge board! The team I am on is “off” this week so you are in the very capable hands of Team “O” this week. The uber talented Jeanie has designed a fun challenge for us!

It’s so easy to play along! Create a new project and use any elements/supplies as long as they fit within the three elements (in a row, column or diagonal) of your choosing from the tic tac toe challenge board. That’s it! So fun to challenge yourself!!

This week I chose to use the middle row: DSP (i.e.:pattern paper), embossing and floral. I was torn on what type of embossing to use…heat embossing, an embossing folder, or embossing paste? Decisions, decisions. I went with embossing folder but feel free to choose any type of embossing.

Details:

  • I looked at all of the elements on the board and the first one to speak to me was ‘blue’. So I looked through all my DSP and found these patterns in the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. When I laid them side by side, they screamed “COUNTRY CHIC WEDDING”. Yes, that loudly. It could be because the series I’m reading has dedicated an entire book to preparing for two upcoming low country weddings. Low Country as in Charleston. And my mind made this association! I don’t really know if this is country chic but it sure is pretty to me!
  • I again reached for the Beautiful Bouquet bundle. I thought a simple bouquet of these darling blooms in Dapper Denim would be so elegant!

  • Do you love the decorative ribbon separating the two pieces of DSP? I used the new Decorative Ribbon Border Punch to create it. It creates such a pretty transition between the two papers!
  • I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create a base for my bridal bouquet and then ran it through the Big Shot using the retired Falling Petals embossing folder because I think they look like hearts 🙂
  • This Dapper Denim Baker’s twine is so yummy and perfect for this card design!
  • Super teeny tiny Pearl Basic Jewels add just the right splash of elegance as does the sentiment in this dreamy font…

  • The same dreamy font carries through to the inside of the card as well. Both of these sentiments as well as LOTS more can also be found in the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle. You can purchase the Beautiful Bouquet photopolymer stamp set and the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies separately or purchase them together and save 10%!

Nance with The Paper Players design team has created a fun sketch which I used as my guide this week…it always helps to work with a sketch! Please be sure to stop by The Paper Players and check out their awesome inspiration this week!

So what do you think? Is this Country Chic? That crackled paper makes my heart go pitter patter! I would love to hear your feedback!

Make sure you pop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and see what Team “O” has designed to inspire you this week and maybe even play along!!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

CASEing the Cattie – Beautiful Bouquet

CASEing the Cattie?? Whatever am I talking about?!? CASE is an acronym that stands for Copy And Share Everything. Yes, if you see a card you like, CASEing is perfectly acceptable. Many time CASEing isn’t an exact copy, it can be a jumping off point. In my CASE (haha, see what I did there??), I copied the card in the current Stampin’ Up! catalog almost exactly. Why would I do this? Because it is a beautiful card! See for yourself:

Such a beautiful bridal bouquet, but really the potential for this set is unlimited.

See the stems die? It’s amazing that a die can be made like that. And it has a coordinating stamp image! And so many other pretty dies, I can’t wait to sit down to stamp and die cut each and every one! Here’s a closer peek:

And the sentiments! Isn’t the font lovely? Look at the companion sentiment for the inside!

I hope you have enjoyed todays card…remember CASEing is always okay. You don’t HAVE to come up with a unique idea every time you sit down to create. If you publish your card, please do give credit to the original designer.

Thanks for stopping by…Have a great day!

Bold Birthday – Freshly Made Sketches 293

Stampin-Up-Celebrate-You-Birthday-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

It’s still so hot today, 105 degrees, that I feel like I’m melting so…this is a day best spent indoors in my craft room! I have a very quick and easy card today for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Details:

  • This bold red pattern paper from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper is so crisp and clean that I really wanted to showcase it and keep everything else very minimal
  • The stitching on the curve was done using a die from Lil ‘Inker called Border Builders

Stampin-Up-Celebrate-You-Birthday-Card-Ideas-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

  • Isn’t this birthday sentiment fabulous? It’s from the Celebrate You stamp set. I stamped the image in Real Red and ran it through the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and then paired it up with the corresponding scallop oval shape from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies
  • Bow, Bows, Bows. I’m really into bows right now! This 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon in Real Red is retired but looks so pretty here tied in a double bow!
  • Star Enamel Shapes make the perfect finishing touch for this very clean and simple card!

  • I even kept the inside clean and minimal with just this darling sentiment from the Birthday Delivery stamp set

And here’s the sketch that started it all from the awesomely talented Karen of the Freshly Made Sketches design team:

The Best Day Ever… – CAS(E) this Sketch #227

Stampin-Up-Flirty-Flowers-Wedding-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

Hello Friends! I hope you are having a marvelous weekend! It’s hot here so I’m enjoying some air conditioning and quiet crafty time. There’s nothing better, right? I finally found a sketch perfect for this tall slender bloom from a new stamp from Stampin’ Up! called Flirty Flowers. This stamp set is so dainty and sweet that it made it to the very tip top of my must have list!

This set pairs SO well with these prints from the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack. I almost passed on this DSP on my first order, I’m so glad I didn’t, it looks amazing!

Details:

  • Can you see the sparkle on the pretty flower? It dazzles and for once, the camera caught it! I’m SO excited!!
  • I used the same striped Sweet Sugarplum pattern that was used for the envelope liner to back the floral pattern, the main image and the sentiment rather than card stock. It just looked softer, somehow.
  • I stamped the matching image in the front of the envelope…it’s just THAT sweet!
  • The ribbons are amazing this year so I’m trying to feature them as much as I can. Here I’ve used the 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Sweet Sugarplum. It’s not stiff like grosgrain ribbons have been in the past, it’s very soft and flexible.

  • I used the smallest circle in the Layering Circles Framelits Dies for the sentiment and backed it with another circle punched with the 1 1/4″ punch in order to be consistent with the width of all the layers.
  • I can’t say enough about the Glimmer Enamel Dots. They are so very sparkly and can be used with so MANY colors. Just buy two packs!

  • The Soft Sayings Card Kit has a fantastic choice of sentiments! I love the classic font on this sentiment, it looks so nice against the stripes of the envelope liner!

Thank you to the talented designers of the CAS(E) this Sketch design team for another fun sketch!

See you next time!!

Stylized Birthday Greetings – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #3

Happy Thursday to you! Friday is just around the corner! When planning your crafty time this weekend I hope you will consider playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I designed this week’s board so I can’t wait to see what you create with it!

I had a hard time choosing a row because I love everything on the board! In the end I chose to use the far right column with the bow, scallop and rectangle. And here’s what I created with it:

Stampin-Up-Stylized-Birthday-Card-Idea-Shannon-Jaramillo-stampinup

I really let the patterns from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper do all the heavy lifting on this super clean card!

Details:

  • I jumped on my Pinterest Layouts board and quickly found a sketch with both a circle and a rectangle and then simply backed my circle with a scallop. Easy Peasy. Why reinvent the wheel?
  • With such bold patterns I needed a bold stamp and Stylized Birthday fit the bill perfectly. Did you see that I snuck in another element from the board with the stitching on the circle?
  • Backing all the elements with black breaks up all of the bold patterns and makes them more pleasing to the eye

  • I used the 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party on my last card and told you that it looked like it had been dipped in glitter. Here’s a close up of the same ribbon in Basic Black, can you see the sparkle? It’s so pretty in the picture here but even prettier in real life as it catches the light from the sun, so so very pretty.
  • Do you hate making bows? Do they make you crazy? Then please check out this video by fellow Pal Ann Schach. You will be making amazing bows in no time.

  • I added a flower stamped in Powder Pink underneath the sentiment on the inside of the card.
