Without the Rain – Sunday Stamps 108

I’m so thrilled to be working with the Sunday Stamps design team again! I love, love, love their sketches and color combinations and can’t wait to share them with you! Today’s challenge is all about a sketch…

SS108-08:23:15It’s so wide open, I think I could do cards all week in this format and have them all be different! Here’s what I was inspired to create:

Without the Rain - Sunday Stamps 108Just a cheerful reminder for when someone you care about is going through a struggle that there will be better days!!…such a sweet sentiment!

Without the Rain - Sunday Stamps 108The MISTI made stamping the word ‘rainbow’ in multiple colors very easy to do. I used Real Red, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade and Pacific Point as my rainbow colors. The stamp I used did not have an umbrella handle that was long enough for me to get my sentiment where I wanted it, so I simple snipped the handle off of the stamp and extended the handle! MISTI to the rescue again!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation and that you will visit the Sunday Stamps challenge blog and see the inspiration the rest of the team has provided!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Soft and Romantic Congrats – Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194

Welcome Friends! It’s Sunday and that means another challenge from Sunday Stamps is all lined up for you!

07:12SSC105fAren’t these colors AMAZING?? They make me want to make something soft and romantic! And just coincidentally, I have a wedding reception to attend this weekend! Perfect!!

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194I pulled out a mixture of current and retired Stampin’ Up! stamps for this project. I have saved this stamp set called Love and Laughter for years, hoping to get a chance to use it and now that I have the chance, I wasn’t going to pass it up simply because the stamp set is retired!! I don’t go to many weddings anymore I guess!

I paired it up with a delightful image from a current set called Awesomely Artistic. I think the image is reminiscent of a bridal bouquet.

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194I love the softness of the stamping done in Simon Says Stamp Fog for the lighter gray and then Smoke for the darker gray. I kept the sentiment in the lighter color but punched it out with the Washi Tape punch to give it a bit more presence.

Soft and Romantic Congrats - Sunday Stamps 105 & FMS 194It took just a few minutes to snip the image out and adhere it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I found this delightful adhesive glimmer dot in my collection…I think it looks perfect!!

I backed the front panel with some Fog cardstock and then popped the whole thing up with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the card base. I also stamped coordinating images on the envelope. I hope they like it!!

I used the sketch by the delightful Linda Callahan over at Freshly Made Sketches as my jumping off point for this card…I hope they can still see it in there!!

FMS Final 194-001Thanks so much for visiting me, I know I’ve been quiet lately but the summer is the one time that the pace of my husband’s job slows down a bit so I like to spend every minute that I can with him! I will be back more regularly in August!!

I hope you love the colors as much as I do!! Please be inspired by the rest of the awesome designs by the Sunday Stamps design team and I can’t wait to see your designs as well!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Doodle Buds – Sunday Stamps 104

Welcome back to another challenge from the Sunday Stamps challenge! You all rocked the color combination and I’m really looking forward to your awesome creations using this versatile sketch!

06:21SSC104F

The possibilities are endless! I’ve been in a clean and simple mood this week so…

Doodle Buds - Sunday Stamps 104I just can’t seem to get enough flowers!! This doodled bloom is so adorable and I love that you could easily stamp it in black and color it in if you like. I choose to stamp the images in vibrant colors instead…isn’t the green a wonderful shade? It’s the new Cucumber Crush ink by Stampin’ Up! and I love it!!

Doodle Buds - Sunday Stamps 104bI went neutral with the rest of the design to allow the vibrant colors to really take center stage. I have the perfect friend in mind for this bit of happy mail!

This challenge will run for three weeks instead of the usual two, allowing you plenty of time to play along with us in between all of your fun summer activities. Have you anything big planned this summer or just lots of family, food and sunshine? I would love to hear your plans! This weekend I am enjoying a long weekend at the coast and lots of together time with my hubby, who works very hard during the academic year.

I hope you love the sketch as much as I do!! Please be inspired by the rest of the awesome designs by the Sunday Stamps design team and I can’t wait to see your designs as well!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

More Butterfly Wishes – Sunday Stamps 103

Woo Hoo! It’s time for another challenge from the Sunday Stamps design team!! Are you READY?? This challenge is a fabulous color challenge!!

06:07SSC103Isn’t it fab???? I think it is soooo yummy and I had a blast putting my card together:

More Butterfly Wishes - Sunday Stamps 103b

Yummy, right?? I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the cards by the design team, they really rocked this challenge!! But let’s go through my card first…

Since I pulled all of my colors from the Stampin’ Up! color palette (Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar and Soft Suede), I also pulled out a few Stampin’ Up! stamps, Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge, to play with. I used the splatter stamp and the leaf stamp to create my background in Soft Suede and Baked Brown Sugar respectively, stamping off before stamping my card stock.

SKP Watermarked Photos4-035I then used Square Framelits to cut a square out of my background, added two layers of card stock to it, and re-adhered it to my card. I had a ton of fun with the butterfly! I added a layer of micropore tape to the back of my Soft Suede card stock and then ran it through the Big Shot with the medium Butterfly Thinlit. I then ran Soft Sky and Baked Brown Sugar through the Big Shot with the same die. The micropore tape kept all of the pieces of the butterfly together, but allowed me to use my paper piercer to gently pull some of the pieces out and replace them with the same pieces in another color. I layered the Soft Sky butterfly on top and then carefully added Wink of Stella to all the pieces.

Whew! That was a long explanation, I hope it made sense. This all took a bit of time, but that’s okay, it became a personal challenge for me 🙂 Does that ever happen to you?

SKP Watermarked Photos4-038I die cut a circle from vellum and stamped it liberally with the honeycomb stamp from Butterfly Basics. The Soft Sky ink is really light on it, so I just stamped and stamped until it was dark enough. I had already adhered the layered square to the card so I was a bit stumped as to how I was going to add my circle. In the end, I used the square framelit to die cut part of my circle away and then used Crystal Effects to adhere the circle to the card.

SKP Watermarked Photos4-036I also added the sentiment after the fact which is why it’s a bit splotchy…it’s no easy feat to stamp straight with all those layers and twine in the way!! But I actually really like the way it turned out!

And the twine…it came off of something I purchased and I saved it. It’s been hanging around my desk for a few months. I’m glad I saved it, I think it adds so much texture to my card!

And I decorated the inside of today’s card as well:

SKP Watermarked Photos4-039Love these stamps together!!

The sketch for today’s card was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week:

FMS Final 189-001So fun to work with!!

Plentiful Petals – Sunday Stamps 102

It’s time for another challenge over at Sunday Stamps! There were lots of amazing entries with the last challenge, beautiful combinations of the challenge colors so I can’t wait to see everyone’s interpretations of this challenge…a sketch!

11141110_10203934057060498_7124819809517738430_nI love sketches! Sometimes I take the focal image and build from there, sometimes I pick papers and let them dictate the focal image.

Plentiful Petals - Sunday Stamps 102This time I knew I wanted to use the Plentiful Petals Die-namics by MFT Stamps so I started with that and then searched for a pretty paper. This one jumped out at me because it had so many bright and pretty colors in it. I knew that it would be able to handle the bold color Pure Poppy by Papertrey Ink. Isn’t it wonderful?

SKP Watermarked Photos4-014I had so much fun deciding the arrangements of colors in the layers and I just love the font of the sentiment I used. So pretty!

SKP Watermarked Photos4-015I couldn’t let the inside be neglected so I used the negative of my flower die cuts and added a few sweet details:

SKP Watermarked Photos4-016I’m excited to see your creations for this challenge! Before you head off to your craft area, I hope you will stop by the Sunday Stamps blog for more inspiration from the rest of the team!!

Have a wonderful long weekend for my fellow crafters in the States, for the rest of you, here’s hoping that the work week starts smoothly!

Wishing you joy and blessings!
