**This is my second post today. Please scroll down to see Day 11 of the Card Challenge and please forgive me for posting twice as I am catching up on publishing my posts.**

Stampin Up Garden in Bloom Just Because Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Ummm, yum! I can’t STAND how darling this color combination is!! This card may look clean and simple but it actually took about two hours and lots and lots of do overs until I was happy with the outcome, but man oh man am I happy with it! Worth every piece of card stock!!

The Details:

  • Base is Thick Whisper White card stock, cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″and scored at 5 1/2″
  • The Peekaboo Peach Designer Series paper is from the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and is cut to 3 5/8″ x 4 5/8″
  • The Mint Macaroon Designer Series Paper is from the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper and is cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • The top layer is Thick Whisper White, cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • I felt that the Peekaboo Peach layer didn’t have quite enough impact, so I trimmed it to a slightly larger size than the other two layers

  • This darling flower is from another 3 layer stamp set called Garden in Bloom. I only used 2 layers though, the outline and the filler. I tried adding in the detail stamp but it just didn’t work for me today, so I left it out on both the flower and the leaves
  • This color combination of Peekaboo Peach and mint Macaron just blows me away…I LOVE it!!! I started with Pear Pizzazz but it wasn’t working for me either. Did I mention I stamped this a zillion times before I was happy?
  • The sentiment is from Blooms & Wishes. This is the stamp set I started out with but just couldn’t make the flowers work for me today…so I changed the flowers but kept the sentiment. LOVE the font!!

  • I tried adding Enamel Shapes. I tried adding Pearls. I tried adding Rhinestones. Nope. In the end I used only Wink of Stella. The card shimmers SO prettily! I wish I could capture it with my camera!

Super clean and simple. Super cheerful. I’m in love with the colors…what do yo think?

Watercolor Words – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 11

Stampin Up Watercolor Words Everyday Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Today’s card is an everyday kind of card. The kind you can send to just say “hey”. Who doesn’t love to receive that kind of mail? This card was made for someone who lives a quiet life so I sure hope this brightens his day!

The Details:

  • The card base is Night of Navy cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • The lovely paper is from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper Pack and is trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″

  • I used the Watercolor Words Photopolymer Stamp set on this project. The sentiment is stamped on scrap Thick Whisper White and die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. The stars, from the same stamp set, are stamped directly onto the Designer Series Paper. Easy!
  • I used retired Candy Dots in Night of navy to add some bling to my design. I like the matte finish of them for this masculine card.

  • The Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp set has tons of words to mix and match to create custom sentiments like the one used here-so fun to create your own!
  • I used the retired Envelope Liners Framelits Dies to create a coordinating envelope liner, also from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper

A paper named “Floral Boutique” would not have been my go to for a masculine card, just goes to show how well Stampin’ Up! plans their products because there is something for everyone in every pack of Designer Series paper!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Santa’s Sleigh in Black and Red – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 10

Stampin Up Santa's Sleigh Christmas Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup.jpg

Today I paired the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp and Thinlits Dies Bundle with the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack. This card has such a warm and cozy feel to me. It also fits perfectly with the challenge to use plaid over at Merry Monday so I’m playing along!

The Details:

  • This card has just a few(!) layers. Here are the dimensions of each layer from base to top:
    • Card Base 4 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
    • Basic Black 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
    • Warmth & Cheer Designer Series paper 4″ x 5 1/4″
    • Basic Black 3 3/4″ x 5″ (this layer is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals)
    • Cherry Cobbler 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
    • Thick Whisper White 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
  • I was able to quickly turn scraps of paper into banners with the Triple Banner Punch. Baker’s Twine makes adding a pretty bow a snap!

  • Red and Black is an uncommon color combination to me, but wow, does it ‘POP” here! The whole card feels very classic and timeless.
  • The Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and coordinating dies are amazing as stand alone images (see this card here) but also have huge potential when paired together in a scene. I stamped both the reindeer and the wreath images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, die cut them both (note that there is a die to cut out the inside of the wreath) and paired them up, snipping through the wreath and wrapping it around the reindeer’s neck. The wreath looks so sweet and he looks so proud to be wearing it!
  • I used a Blender Pen and Stampin’ Markers in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler to color the holly leaves and add in berries. If you don’t have Stampin” Markers, an alternative would be to pool some ink from your ink pad into the lid, and then dip the blender pen into that to pick up ink. The wreath sparkles with Wink of Stella.
  • I couldn’t resist using the eye from the Owl Builder Punch to add Rudolph’s nose. And it sparkles! I do so love Wink of Stella!!

  • Two sentiments from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set grace this card. One on the front and the other on the inside. I love to add card stock in coordinating colors on the inside as well. It’s totally not “necessary” but I love the look and heft of the card with all the layers. All told, this card has 9 layers!! Eek!! Extra postage for sure, lol. The little stars are from the Stitched with Cheer stamp set. I love the added detail. And sparkle. Because of course they sparkle 🙂

What do you think? This card is technically clean and simple, but really falls more into the clean and layered category. I love them both!

Season of Joy – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 9

Stampin Up Christmas Pine Christmas Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

I found a fun little sketch that I thought would showcase these patterns perfectly so I continued with the Christmas theme for today’s post. These papers are all from the Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper Pack. Did you know that if you purchase three packs of Designer Series Paper in the same order this month, you’ll get one FREE DSP pack of your choice? How awesome is that?

The Details:

  • I layered white on white to add a bit of depth to my project. The top white layer is cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • For the layers of pattern paper, I cut the bottom strip to 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. The rest of the layers are 3/8″ x 3 1/2″; 3/8″ x 3 1/4″; 3/8″ x 3″ and 3/8 x 2 3/4″
  • Did you see the darling pattern paper with bows on it at the top? I trimmed the height of it down just a bit so I could have just one row of bows. Darling!

  • The sentiment used is from the Christmas Pines Photopolymer Stamp set. I chose it specifically because it’s about 3/8″ high and about 2 1/2″ wide…perfect for continuing the concept of the graduated layers!
  • After stamping the greeting, I decided I wanted to continue the graduated layers. I found a sweet image of Holly in the Christmas Pines stamp set so I stamped one spring at the top of the design and one at the opposite side at the bottom, they are such a sweet detail!

  • There are several choices of pine tree stamps that coordinate with the Perfect Pine Framelits Dies, I chose this stamp from the Foxy Friends photopolymer Stamp Set. It really pops as stamped here in Emerald Envy. It is such a fresh color! Red Metallic Thread has been wrapped around the back of the Pine Tree as a fun detail
  • The pretty pine tree truly sparkles with Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I added a few more scattered through the design to continue the graduated design.
  • Notice the complimentary piece of Designer Series Paper lining the envelope?  It really pulls all of the colors together!

I hope you have enjoyed this fresh color palette…again, Stampin’ Up! really makes design EASY!!

Oh, What Fun! – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 8

Stampin Up Oh What Fun Card Ideas - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

Have you ever wonder what the term clean and simple means? Today’s card is just that, in its’ truest form. White space can be intimidating but I say “Embrace it!”

The Details:

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White card stock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • I prefer to not have ribbon or twine be visible once the card is opened so I added another layer of Thick Whisper White card stock, cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I can still have the clean look while also being able to tuck the ends of the twine away.

Stampin Up Oh What Fun Card Idea - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • This oh so fun sentiment from the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer stamp set, is cheery and bright and stands very well all on it’s own. The sentiment was die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, with a scallop added for depth and interest. Still in Whisper White in keeping with the Clean and Simple concept.

Stampin Up Oh What Fun Card Ideas 2 - Shannon Jaramillo Stampinup

  • Can you see the sparkle in this baker’s twine? Um, yum!! I want to use this darling twine from the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine Combo Pack on everything!
  • I added a teeny tiny heart punched from Red Glimmer Paper with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I love how the its’ sparkle balances out the sparkle in the baker’s twine
  • I couldn’t resist incorporating a bit of color with the envelope liner. This pattern is from one of last year’s collections and works perfectly with my design!!

So what do you think of the clean and simple style? Or do you prefer a bit “more” on your card? I love the look, but I also love pattern paper so I tend to just go with how I feel that day 🙂

Thank you for stopping by!
