Sweet New Adventures – 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 4

Sweet New Adventures - 30 Day Card Challenge, Day 4

I haven’t used the color Soft Sky recently and thought it would pair well with these whimsical wildflowers. This stamp set makes me smile! Wildflowers win my hearts over roses any day 🙂

The combination of Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Tip Top Taupe is so soft and sweet! I colored the images directly with Stampin’ Markers in Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight. To add shading I simply added another layer of color.

I added just a bit of Wink of Stella for shimmer on the flowers. This card is for a friend who is moving on, she will be missed but I wish her well!

I masked off one of the wildflowers, stamped in Soft Sky and then stamped the sentiment over it in Tip Top Taupe. Quick and easy but lovely and sincere!

My post is quick today as hubby and I set aside everything to spend time together so I need to get back! I hope you have a wonderful holiday today and I will be back tomorrow with card #5. I am determined!! 🙂

Flowering Fields – SIP #28 Anything but Christmas

Hello! I’ve been on a crafting hiatus during this busy time of year, but I found some me time today and tried out some new product that Santa brought to me!

Flowering Fields

One of my favorite new products in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration catalog is Flowering Fields. A versatile set, very soft and pretty!

Details:

  • Colors are Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Hello Honey, Old Olive and Lost Lagoon
  • The card front is watercolor paper, perfect for use with both the Aqua Painter and the Blender Pen. I am challenged with an Aqua Painter so I used a Blender pen. To make sure I get a small amount of  ink, I tap a clean stamp block to the ink pad and then pick ink up from that with the Blender Pen.
  • I painted the flowers with soft color and then went back with a bit more color for shading.
  • The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set called What I Love, and I love the font!! It’s a perfect match for the flowers!!
  • I used linen thread across the front of the card, anchored to the back and then attached the sentiment banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used the linen thread to create a bow and attached it to the banner with a glue dot. Tip: For fine uses such as this bow, I attach the glue dot and then fold it over onto itself (in half) so that it remains hidden.
  • I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base, followed by mats in Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive.
  • The lovely paper used for the envelope liner is from another Sale-A-Bration product, Wildflower Fields DSP (Designer Series Paper)

Flowering Fields

All Sale-A-Bration products will be available with every $50 purchase from Stampin’ Up!, beginning January 5, 2016. That will be easy to do with the wonderful new items coming in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog coming January 5, 2016! If you would like a catalog, please send me an email!

I couldn’t resist dressing up the inside o the card just a bit…

Flowering Fields

I’m playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week which is “Anything but Christmas”. Lol. I love it!
