Special Birthday Greetings – SSSC269

Special Birthday Greeting_1Today’s post is a very special card for a very special birthday. May is a birthday month in my family! There are FOUR and first up in order (after mine) is my niece’s birthday. I had to wait to share because I wanted her to see it first.

SKP Watermarked Photos4-002I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch this week as my jumping off point. I knew immediately which stamp to use, Birthday Greetings by MFT Stamps, and then chose fun and fresh birthday colors from my paper stash. I love going shopping in my paper stash! I’ll have to share my 6 x 6 paper storage in a future post, it really is going shopping! I digress…here is the sketch I worked from

SSSC269and as you can see I followed it exactly. Such a FUN sketch this week!!! Perfect for a crisp and clean birthday card!

SKP Watermarked Photos4-003I had lots of fun choosing the pattern papers and the ink colors for my sentiment. Hats off (again) to my MISTI for making stamping in multiple colors and repeat stamping possible. I was able to stamp each color twice (perfectly) which allows for rich vibrant color. LOVE it!

And, as you can see, I had tons of fun with my MFT Stamps pierced dies! Both with the rectangles and the flags! I did alter the size of the rectangle for the sentiment. I die cut the rectangle which a a little too long, trimmed one side to the proper length and then carefully laid the piece back into the die with the unpierced edge against the edge of the die and ran it through the Big Shot again. I was careful to only run the one edge through, adding the piercings in the right spot without making more where there shouldn’t be! I hope that makes sense.

But I couldn’t stop there as this is a special card for a very special person! I can’t believe she’s 20 years old!!

SKP Watermarked Photos4-004I had to add a spot for the gift card, and of course decorate it, as well as decorating the spot to add my personal message. I had SO much fun making this! I even decorated the envelope but this post is long enough already! I will leave you with a close up of the gift card pocket…

SKP Watermarked Photos4-005So much fun! Happy Birthday darling Leia!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Everyone Needs A Friend

Hello there, Friends!

I’m popping in today to share my second project the other night, using up some random paper. See the yellow striped pattern paper? I built the whole card around using that piece! lol

I realized that the paper would work perfectly with the new MFT Stamps Blueprints 14 Die I just happened to also have out on my table. It’s the first time I’ve used these blueprints dies and they are SO fun!! Just pull up a layout and get crafting! You can see examples of the layouts you can use this die set to create here. (Sorry, I couldn’t get the file converted to a png.)

I paired up some fun colors to make a bright, cheerful card to celebrate friendship. And on the inside:

Cute, right? This stamp set just came in the mail that day and so was ALSO sitting on my work table. See what happens when things stay out? They get used!! Maybe I should pull ALL of my pretties out!! J/K, that would make me nuts!! Oh! Sorry, the stamp set is called Modern Mehndi by Lil’ Inker Designs and you will definitely be seeing more from that stamp set…I super love it!!

I don’t usually make odd shaped cards but JUST realized this die set is for a square card! That made me laugh at myself when I realized that…I guess I’ll be making more square cards in the future! I hope you are inspired by these blueprint dies, I was, and can’t wait to collect some more! Thanks for letting me share the results of my “clearing out and finishing up projects” mode!

And as you read this post, I am enjoying a day at the Scrapbook Expo in Anaheim, California!! I can’t wait to see what crafty goodies I can find!

Wishing you joy and blessings!
