I Love Pattern Paper – The Paper Players 259 & Stamp, Ink, Paper 11

…and I cannot lie…lol, yes I do!!! And the sketch from The Paper Players has given me an excuse to play with some!

I Love Pattern Paper - The Paper Players 259 Well, how did I do?? I had a ton of fun with this one and sure do like how it turned out. I’m loving all the black with just a pop of color. I used Altenew’s Painted Butterflies stamp set and used Papertrey’s Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening for the pops of blue.

I Love Pattern Paper - The Paper Players 259 What do you think? Should I have lined my banner in black? I couldn’t decide so I left it alone, but in looking at it now, perhaps I should have…

I Love Pattern Paper - The Paper Players 259 I tried very hard to capture the sparkle on the butterfly’s wings. It’s so pretty!

Thank you very much to The Paper Players design team for always providing tons of inspiration!

pp259And I’m also playing along with the Stamp, Paper, Ink challenge this week…tic-tac-toe challenges are so much fun!! I chose butterflies, buttons and monochromatic (although I took some liberty with monochromatic with the pop of blue)

Freshly Made Sketches 200th Anniversary

Hello there! I’m excited to participate in Freshly Made Sketches 200th Challenge! The design team is made up of an extraordinary group of talented card makers, providing inspiration to many week in and week out. Today’s challenge is no exception!

Freshly Made Sketches 200th AnniversarySuch a wide open sketch this week!! I changed my card up just a bit from the sketch, but it follows it generally, lol!Freshly Made Sketches 200th AnniversaryThe minute I saw this book page/newsprint paper this card popped into my mind. I knew I wanted something bright that would pop off the page and this stamp and die set sure does the trick!!

Freshly Made Sketches 200th AnniversaryI layered the flowers directly onto the base paper and then popped the flower centers up. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers that is actually (sort of) visible in this shot!! So hard to capture the shimmer!!

Freshly Made Sketches 200th AnniversaryI added a scallop-y edge, some pretty twine, and a very clean and neat sentiment to round the card off.

Thank you for stopping by today! I would love to hear your comments if you have some!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!

Painted Butterflies – Sunday Stamps 101

Hello there, my stamping friends! Welcome to my second post of the day, this one is a card I designed for the Sunday Stamps design team, which I am very excited to announce that I am now a member of!!

I’m looking forward to this next year’s journey with the Sunday Stamps Challenge Blog, they have wonderful challenges so I hope you will check them out and play along!

Today’s challenge is a color challenge! And just look at these fun colors!!:

I know, you totally want to play along, right?? I know I did! Here’s what I came up with:

SKP Watermarked Photos3-085I was in a butterfly mood and thought that these colors would work really well for this new (to me) stamp set called Painted Butterflies by Altenew. Aren’t they gorgeous?? Each butterfly has three stamps to be layered together to create the final image…thank heavens for the MISTI!! I’m not sure I would attempt so much layering without it!

Wouldn’t it be fun to make a whole bunch of these cards in different colors for gift sets? Just change out the sentiment…easy peasy!

SKP Watermarked Photos3-086And if you’re wondering where the grey color is…it’s in the ink splatters in the background! I used Stampin’ Up!’s Gorgeous Grunge stamp set for the ink splatters…it’s my go to stamp for that sort of thing. I also stamped off once before stamping onto my cardstock to create a soft splatter effect.

And there you have it! I used Mama Elephant’s Femme Frames to die cut the scallop layer as well as the interior rectangle, and then used the interior rectangle again to die cut my white cardstock and inlaid it to keep the layers minimal for mailing 🙂

I hope you will hop over and check out the inspiration from the rest of the Sunday Stamps design team and I hope to see you over there!!

Wishing you joy and blessings!
