Sweet You Thank You

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there! Thank you for all you do!

Hello there my stamping friends! I’d like to share a little story with you today.

Awhile ago, I can’t actually remember how long it’s been (maybe 5 weeks?), but I saw a stamp set I knew I just HAD to have. You know those moments, where you see a stamp set and it’s just like when you see an adorable puppy…and you just HAVE to have it?? So I ordered it, along with a few other goodies, and the moment I hit the ‘send’ button, I felt like a traitor, like I had turned my back on all that I held dear.

But then my little order arrived and I immediately sat down to play with that stamp set I just HAD to have 🙂 And oh my gosh, I was so enamored of the card I had created that I was hooked and had to create another card with some of the goodies…but that’s a future blog post 🙂

Drum roll please…

Isn’t it lovely? Yes, I know I made it but I’m still going to say that I love it! Why had I been feeling guilty, you ask? Because this stamp set called Sweet You is made by Fun Stampers Journey. If you aren’t familiar with the name, it’s a direct sales card making supplies company that is in direct competition with Stampin’ Up!. Hence the guilt. But I love the stamp set and creating this card was like a breath of fresh air…

Very sweet card Shannon. I can see why you loved this set. I wouldn’t feel too guilty getting thins from other companies. I’d say it was worth it!
    Happy Mother’s Day!💐💐

Don’t feel bad. Stamping Up has some lovely things but their stamps are in a rut and their business model does not let them respond quickly to craft trends. I one was a demo but kept wanting to branch out to other types of stamps and techniques. I had to let them go. I had to grow in my craft and embrace my creativity. To experiment and explore…. they were a good start but I outgrew them. So embrace your style and and don’t look back. I have always followed you for your styles and techniques not what company you represented. No guilt, just fly!

    Hi Shannon,
I have always loved your style, and no matter whose products you use, I will be excited to see your projects. This one is very sweet. I can certainly see why you are so excited about it!

Congratulations on your Journey. I agree with the others… you have a great sense of style and design and I will continue to follow your progress in the world of card making. Best of luck, Shannon!

Best of luck in your new journey. I know you will be very successful in whatever you do! I wanted to switch to them but my small group of customers have too much invested in Su and rebelled at the idea of changing. I feel very limited by Su so I have started to buy and use whatever I want for my personal stamping

Have loved following your style through SU from the re-do of your craft room to your artistic cards but know it must be frustrating to be limited in the products you want to use.
I fell in love with your sweet elephant on the card you posted and searched everywhere for it but without any luck. It WAS one of those stamps (Good Karma) that I just HAD to have and now have found it through your webpage.
I wish you all the best of luck following your heart and I will continue to follow you on your journey!
