Filled With Joy – Make It Monday #196

Happy Saturday my friends!! The first week back after the holidays is always action packed, I’m so looking forward to some crafty time today!

I have two inspirations today…The first is Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday Challenge to fill up those corners! The second inspiration is also from Papertrey Ink. It’s their January 2015 Inspiration Archive’s Color Combination…isn’t this combination amazing?

When I pulled these colors of cardstock out, I truly gasped…they are SO pretty together!

I needed to use at least one Papertrey Ink product for these challenges so I went to the PTI section of my stamp storage and found a delightful stamp set that was an exclusive gift if you purchased a minimum amount order…so of course, I did! The stamp set is called Filled with Joy and has very elegant looking flowers and leaves in it, perfect for this color combination!

What do you think? I couldn’t just fill one corner, I had to fill them both! And can I say, my new MISTI sure got a workout on this card! Just lots and lots of images and color, and the sentiment…so sweet! Love the font! And love that there are lots of options to switch out the saying, this one just worked for me.

You will have to take my word for it that every leaf and flower on this card is covered liberally with Wink of Stella…it’s sooo sparkly pretty!!

And I did not stop at the front…

Yep, more stamps from this set! I also threw in this little dot stamp from Rustic Wreath. It’s a go-to stamp for me now, it’s so easy to add little dots of interest and color to just about anything!

I also decided to enter this card into the Anything-Goes-As Long-As-It’s-New challenge over at NBUS (never-before-used-schtuff) since everything is new and I can enter more than once 🙂

Soft and Pretty Birthday for PTI January Inspiration Challenge

Hello Friends! It’s Saturday and I am counting down the few days left until my winter holiday is over! I’m going to spend as much time remaining as I can in my card room! How about you? Have you gone back to work or do you return on Jan 5th as well?

I came across this adorable sketch over at Papertrey Ink and decided it was too pretty to pass up…

I found some cute paper in the Life of the Party 6×6 paper pad by My Mind’s Eye. I die cut it using Lil’ Inker’s Stitched Rectangle Mat Dies and popped it up off my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I created a little banner from scrap card stock and then created the background banner using the same pattern paper on the envelope liner. A tip for you: save some of your scraps when you trim your card stock down to make mats. The pieces are perfect for making banners! This one is 1/2″ wide, it’s a scrap from trimming a card base down 1/4 on each side. Second tip: don’t save ALL the scraps…you’ll never use them all up! (trust me on this one)

I found some adorable Blushing Bride ribbon in my Stampin’ Up! stash…so soft and pretty! I felt that the card front needed just a bit more so I added some bling with small sequins.

Pretty clean and simple so I moved to the inside of the card when disaster struck…my hand wobbled when stamping the inside sentiment!! Eek! And it was pretty bad, it definitely needed to be re-done. But how? I pondered different solutions but in the end decided that a pretty mat would cover up the mistake and give me another go at it! Whew, crisis averted!
